I've done several of these lately (admittedly quite simple designs to get started) and have really enjoyed the process. I made a couple for myself (the beer-related ones, of course) but also made a handful of etched wine glasses for my wife. Below are some pictures of what I've done so far.

Tank 7 is one of my all-time favorite beers!

I'm not really a Mikkeller fan, but this was the first design I tried. Simple enough and turned out well.

Again, not a Mikkeller fan, but love the hop design.

Tulips (although some of the silhouettes look like mushrooms … tulips are hard to draw dammit!)

FEUO … to partially answer your question, the etching cream works pretty well on a full glass, as long as it's spread evenly … see last pic above of the tulips on the wine glass.

Unfortunately, I can't upload the most impressive one I've done so far as it's going out to a trading partner sometime soon, but I'll upload it after it's delivered.

The birds glass looks like the logo for Dissident, very nice work!

Wife wanted me to make a glass for her so I put some random graphics together. It's hard to see it all but this is the first time I etched the stem and base, which was tough as shit to carve out.
