Hmmmmm. My conversations with certain liquor stores (last fall and this spring) and a few peeps from CW was that this wasn't gonna hit distro due to the lack of cherries. Yes, it was at the anniversary party, but I'm sure they had "enough" just for the event. Does someone know something different? Stores that I go to that would of had it by now, say they are not getting it. Not saying the info I got was accurate, but all signs are pointing that way. Please correct me if someone has different information. Thanks.

Wasn't it the 2013 they had on tap? Not the 2014?

Yeah...that's exactly what I thought as well. I suppose I should have posted that in my last comment. I think people are getting a false impression that because it was at the party, that it's this years (2014) and would be released. Or it could have been this years only released at the party due to lack of cherries. Either way, I don't think we are getting it. #emptystomach

I'd imagine they're probably still dealing with the email fallout from the Peruvian Morning recall.

It's kinda funny you ask about the e-mail. I e-mailed CW 2 years ago about something (don't quite recall about what) and never heard back. My friend from Chicago did the same thing. When I ran into one of their reps at a tasting event I told him the only complaint (in a joking way) with them was their response time to e-mails. He asked me what I was talking about....I responded about the 2yr non-response e-mails and he said that he would look into it. Not sure if this has happened to anyone else, although I did not e-mail them about this years Cherry Stout.

They've been very responsive to private messages on Facebook, but I haven't asked them anything since last summer...

There was a public query about it posted this morning to their FB page. Hopefully they'll respond and clear up the mystery.

I've searched through all of their FB updates since the beginning of the year, and all comments posted onto their page, and I'm not seeing anything about bourbon barrel cherry stout...

Tweeted at Central Waters yesterday about something and haven't heard back although they seem to find the time to tweet during the day, just not to answer my questions.......

There was a mention by CW of the Cherry being distributed, but nothing about whether it's going to be bottled, and no word about Exodus at all.

^^^^my guess on the distro is at certain bars to have on tap for "special" events. Albeit very limited.

I'd take exodus over supplication any day of the week. The RR sours are way over-hyped in my opinoin

I'd drink your Bourbon Barrel Cherry Stout fairly quickly. Cellared two last year (or the year before, can't remember). Cracked both bottles about 8-12 months later, and boy were they sour. Nearly everything from CW that is BA except Bourbon Barrel Stout & Bourbon Barrel Barleywine seems to be infected to some degree (and I know of people getting infected bottles of BBS). Barrel-aging heightens the risk of infection. Adding fruit, coffee, etc. increases the risk even more. Most importantly the base "imperial" stout isn't even 8%. All of that ends up to trouble in the making.

SO you are telling me (I love sour beer) to wait about a year to make BBCS even more awesome!? I had one in August and it was delicious, not very sour, but some tartness.

I had a cherry a couple weeks ago and it was delicious. It is a tart beer anyway. I liked it better than fresh.
