How is this and how long would you sit on it? Not sure when to crack this one. Anyone have any advice? Thanks.
I just had the CW Exodus at the Taste of Great Brewers - Milwaukee last week. I thought it was delicious. It's not as complex/crazy/deep as some of the best Flanders Reds or American sours, but that's actually part of why I like it so much. The tartness is there, the cherry flavor is strong, and the background has a slight subtle bourbon taste to compensate for the lack of funk in this. I'd say you can wait a bit to crack this open, but I wouldn't recommend waiting too long. Since a lot of the awesome flavor in this beer is from the cherries, you don't want to wait until their flavor weakens too much. Hope that helps!
Rule of thumb: Drink any beer as fresh as possible if you have not drank it before. Also i have drank two bottles of Exodus and its a nice sour right now, but I could se this getting more sour notes with some time.
I am new to cellaring beers as I started last year. I managed to get seven bottles of Exodus and tried one when it was released in November. I cellared the rest and I am planning on opening another on with a years worth of age on it. I thought it was a good beer but I am new to Sour beers and probably a bit biased towards Central Waters.
