I know that most people who probably got CW15 and CW1414 probably have CW16 so there may be a problem and I might need to offer up other beers. But... How many CW16s do you think it would take to land one CW15 and one CW1414? Are these beers worth trading for or is CW16 that much better than them? Thanks for any info. I realize I might have to offer up other beers but was trying to see if this might work with CW16s.
When we had CW15 and CW16 side-by-side, the verdict was unanimous in favor of CW16, I think primarily because of the richer mouth feel. Flavors on both were terrific (though clearly distinct from one another -- they're different beers), but I think CW took the body very noticeably up a notch with 16.
From what many people have told me, CW16 is a significantly better beer than 1414 and 15 when done in a vertical (I've never had 1414, but I certainly like 16 better than 15), but the venn diagram issue (which you are clearly aware of) and especially the bottle count will work against you here. I recall they sold 1000 bottles of 1414, 1700 bottles of 15; feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here. This may be an issue with 1414, which is already more than 2 years old and who knows how many bottles are out there. Most importantly, my guess is that there were at least 5-10x as many bottles of Sixteen sold at the party as 15. So in terms of trading supply vs trading demand, 1414 and 15 are clearly scarcer than 16. If you do an extended search here, you may find that at one point, 1414 was trading 1:1 with King Henry . What does all of the above mean for you? It means diddlysquat. Decide how many bottles of CW16 you're willing to give up to get a 1414 and/or 15, and post up the ISO:FT with the precise terms and you'll find out soon enough how close you are. But I am fairly certain it's going to take multiples of 16 for each bottle.
Yah thanks for the info. I really like CW16 so I will probably just hang onto it and not bother breaking out other beers to get them. I swear I saw CW1414 in Casanova's long ago. Is that possible or was that brewery only too?
Who knows what that bottle was doing there. Could have been out of someone's personal cellar. Was it sitting on the shelf for sale?
I remember being told a story where a store in the Dells got 2 cases of 15 (by mistake) right after the CW15 Anniversary Party. So it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility that a case here and there of 1414 or 15 would hit the shelves.
I can't recall but I THOUGHT I saw it. Maybe it was just some display but I thought they had quite a few of them for sale and I just looked past it as I didn't know what it was. I could be totally wrong and on things like this I tend to be. My recollection was it was back in a box(s)for sale where they normally keep their beer for sale but it's been a long time and my memory isn't good enough to say either way.
