The Haven in Tampa still had Cycle BA Rye Stout on draft as of last week. $6 for a snifter about 10oz.

BA Day will easily sell out from people that spend their time at the tasting room on a regular basis. Why would Cycle risk not having their best customers attend and allow out of towners to take those tickets?

If that's the case (which it probably is), why do they bother posting on their Facebook about the event in the first place? All these people who are in there on a regular basis should be able to find out about it in person...

Facebook is their main outlet for communication with their fans/regulars. Doug is no fool...he see's a lot of the same people at his silent releases and knows they would be buying a bunch of tickets for non-local friends.
With advance notice he's giving all his supporters an equal chance. *though the 4 tickets per purchase is a HUGE benefit for mostly non-locals.

Also, they do give out some info in person as they have it. Let's be honest, even if they spend two weeks telling everyone in person what and when, there would still be tons of complaints about not finding out just because they didn't visit in the last 2 weeks. It's a lose-lose situation aside from the guaranteed $ of course!

Still on. Still amazing. Especially with $1 happy hour blue points! I'm told less than 1/2 keg left.

Man...Ive got family in town all of beer week (worst timing ever)...I drop them off at Tampa airport at 2pm on Friday the 11th. Trying to decide if its worth a ticket to only catch the last half of the event.

Yeah. There was plenty of beer to go around last year.

Bumping this back up to the front page. I have no new news to report--sorry to disappoint.

On February 3rd on Facebook they wrote: "...as far as when - still undetermined but the 16th looks like a decent day. As much advanced notice on this as possible so stay tuned...."

It's now February 15th. Anyone hear anything? I thought about calling and asking but last year when I called with a question about the Friday bottle release I was given bad information, so at this point I don't have much confidence.

    Per Facebook:

    UPDATE:
A line has already formed for tickets and nobody could get in early enough to start numbers so rather than do that we are simply going to open the bar for business at 11, folks that are currently first in line will still be first and as people show up for the most part they will likely still be in the same order they would have been in anyway, plus who doesn't like a lunch beer?

Yep...fairly predictable...that's why I did not chance the 4.5 hour drive down this morning because I knew the 3:00 On Sale Time would not happen..tickets will be long gone by 3:00

Yes but we have great jobs or we planned ahead for Cycle because typically everything is a surprise at this brewery.

There are quite a few industries that would allow for someone to have a day off on a Tuesday or be off in the mid-morning/afternoon. Not everyone works 7-5 M-F.

I put in a Vacation day and drove from an hour and a half away and got tickets. Of course not everyone is gonna be able to go to the event, it is what it is.
