Im thinking they might do numbers super early (hopefully) so people just dont stand around. Get your number or ticket and come back later same as they did with the barrel age day tickets with a matching name

Isn't this what they did last year? Tickets at like 8am, come back at 12pm for the bottle.

Not sure why this wouldn't work.

Yeah come to think of it I think they did. Will help keep people from hovering around all day

I think they only did this on Thursday and Friday last year.

I have a feeling it will be random daily drops during normal business hours.

Pretty sure the same people will be camping out all day at Cycle so I doubt it's gonna be random. That would just keep the crowd there much longer. Number system seems the way to go.

^^^ The number system for &+ and Nooner 10 (the last #'d release), the last tic didn't work at all. People hung outside all day. The line was long and deep and lasted for several hours. I know, I was there and one of the later numbers :slight_frown:

The number system at the Anniversary (&+/Nooner 10) worked exactly as it was intended. I picked up my ticket early in the morning, left to go get a breakfast burrito and coffee and then returned about 15min early to get myself in line.

Once the release started, the line was reformed and was slow moving.

Doug's intentions where to organize the line at open and ensure that no one cut the line or had other friends show up late to jump up in line with them.

The only change he needs to make to help reduce the line is to give out numbered tickets early with your name on it (similar to a raffle ticket) and they retain one copy and you keep yours. You can come back at any time during the regular business hours that same day and your ticket will guarantee you X number of bottles (varies based on the usual factors.) Your ID will match the name on your ticket and the ticket they have on hand, you pay cash for bottles and leave happy.

My experience mirrored that of @Mangbus entirely. Hell I even saw him at the burrito place. Picked up cardboard number around 9am and left. Nobody was lining up. Just grabbing numbers and leaving. Line didn't start forming until a little after 11. The line did move incredibly slow from there. However, had they NOT done the numbers, people would have been in line outside starting at 8am instead of 11.

My point was just that there were a lot of people in line standing in front of the businesses. I know that was something Doug has been worried about in the past. Everything worked ran great that day, no complaints here.

I think they will be randomly spread throughout the day if they do decide to release them daily.

You'd figure there would be at least 100+ people that would just show up early, head inside once they open and hang out all day until they decide to drop a bottle. 'If' these people end up buying a bunch of pours, then Doug stands to make a killing in this scenario. I'm sure he'll have plenty of barrel aged options on draft those days too. As the day goes on, more and more people will just be waiting for a bottle to drop. Lots of Moms/friends/bums just hanging out in anticipation.

That does sound like a good time but that's exactly what they are trying to avoid IMO. They are trying to keep people from blocking businesses. Tickets seem to be the only way.

I was hoping they just sell all the bottles at barrel aged day... one can wish.

That would honestly be a dream scenario for me too. Everyone that goes gets the Friday bottle and the option to buy one of each of the Mon-Thur. Imagine the hurt.

why does everyone think there will be a bottle release(s) next week during the day? Doug knows starting this weekend, people will be getting into town for TBBW, and any hint at a bottle release is going to have people camping out lurking, similar to how CCB was when Cali Huna would drop randomly. If he does not want people waiting in line, which I am pretty sure he doesn't, then selling bottles during any point at the location is not a good idea. People have now started to line up just to get tickets. I may be playing the naive one, but just because he is emptying barrels doesn't necessarily mean they will be selling bottles at cycle next week. just my .02. I have not seen any hints outside of him posting pics of unloading barrels that leads me to believe bottles release next week.
