I want to try to trade for a bottle each of Rare Dos and Nooner Batch 7. Would offering a 2015 Mocha Wednesday and a plus be off? I'm not sure how big a plus I need to offer - I have bottles from the last Jackie O's release (Orange Oak, Poire, Rubus Oro and Rubus Rojo), Malefactor, and multiples of Anna and Dorothy. I've done some research but it's tough to know what the Cycle beers pull - I know Nooner B8 is going crazy at the moment, but I'm not sure if the older batches cool down after a bit or become more desirable. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I have no insight into what those bottles are trading for but if you do work out a trade out try to get a crowler of Crank thrown in that stuff is awesome! Also might help to highlight which batch of MW you would be offering.
Rare DOS had a very high bottle count and it stuck around for quite a while. It was case limit, $20, and they still had bottles for about a month. It trades about $4$ with other brewery only releases. Nooner 7 was 190 bottles, only 1 per person, and sold out in less than an hour (quick for cycle releases). So it!s even more limited than Nooner 8 (360 bottles) and is a few months old...so not many bottles out there. Nooner 7 isn't quite as desirable. It a Chocolate Bourbon barrel aged Baltic Porter. Where as Nooner 8 is RareR DOS with hazelnuts (and is musher higher rated) I think you'll have some trouble finding a take since your big gun is MW...which is a great beer...but just not as limited or as in demand as what most people will want for Nooner 7.
True. And I've honestly struck out every time I've tried to trade for Jackie O's. Also, for what it's worth, I haven't had Nooner 7 but some buddies of mine had it at the release and then opened a bottle this past week and they said it has already started to drop off. Just a warning. If you do trade for it, you might want to drink it sooner rather than later
Thanks, I appreciate all of the input. The combination of Nooner's rarity and the fact that it seems to be falling off already has convinced me to just concentrate on Rare Dos, which seems attainable.
I had nooner 7 this past weekend and it still tasted great. DCB is better though and Nooner 8 was the best. It's also the hardest to trad for. Nooner 6 has definitely fallen off a lot which is a shame because it was amazing fresh. Nooner 7 has the lowest bottle count, but of 6, 7 or 8 it would probably be the easiest to trade for. Rare DOS isn't too hard to get. There were close to 2000 bottles of it made I believe.
