Rare DOS is one of my favorite beers of all time. Sad I missed out on the RareR the first time it was released (I went to the barrel aged release the first time RareR was tapped and opted for a regular Rare DOS first, only for the RareR to be kicked right before I got my second beer!). If anyone is interested in sending a bottle my way in exchange for some Mexican Cake and Westbrook Gose let me know. Id be happy to expand with some other things if you are want to wait and include some Zhukov when it hits as well. Cheers everyone, and enjoy that Cycle Brewing Nectar of the Gods!

Also what kind sucks is that I was in Tampa 3 days ago (albeit only for a day and I had prior obligations, but I think its socially acceptable to skip an engagement party for a beer release right?).

It was my first time having it tonight and I thought it was great on draft! Can't wait to have a bottle.

    12 bottle limit I believe, though I didn't ask - I didn't see anyone given more than a box.

Flavor-wise, what makes this special? The BA entry has nothing for its description. Looks like a rum barrel-aged imperial stout. Debating the merits of trading for it.

People don't care. It's all about the brewery rep. BA Muy Bonita has no ratings, my trading partner wants it regardless, just the way it is in the beer world.

If a brewery has enough rep the beers will trade off that alone. Moreso when they are limited brewery only releases of beer that's never been bottled.

RareR is AMAZING. It's worth trading for. I live in Forida and I'm trying to trade to get some.

That part I completely understand, as illogical as some of it is. What I try to do is get an idea of what it's brewed with, and if it's a fairly unique stout.

Doug put it in a Pritchard's Rum barrel. Draft was a little thin compared to the other DOS variants but had great balance for a Rum BA stout. Most of the Rum barrel stuff is typically way to hot to drink right away. Also, most bottled BA beers tend to be better than draft in my experience

FWIW I haven't had this batch, but RareR is my favorite BA Cycle beer and I've had 15-20 at least. So yes, IMO it's worth trading for.

Cycle has 15-20 different barrel aged beers? Damn. So pissed I moved from the area right before Cycle lauched. At least I can talk about the "good old days" when it was Peg's Cantina that made Rare and RareR, haha

The beer from Cycle and Peg's are essentially the same thing. Doug is the brewer and used to brew out of Peg's.
