I was there at 4:00am and I was the second person in line to miss out on tickets. (I went back through my FB messages to read my rejection messages to the people I promised tickets)

I was there by 4:15 am last year and was also shut out. I don’t expect anyone showing up later than 5 am this year to get tickets. It always ends up being a shit show of overnight campers and drunks. I’m from Tampa and would love to go to this thing, but I’m not spending all night on a sidewalk for beer.

Yeah for some reason there's been some revisionism going around lately but they wouldn't have made these kind of changes if last year wasn't a miss on ticket sale procedures.

What changes have they made? Have they announced anything? I know Cycle has been using Facebook more recently and not as much on IG. I gave up Facebook years ago, so I want to make sure I don't miss anything.

2 tickets per person and 1 of those must be the person in line

I may be wrong here, but I think it will be easier to get tickets this year..only 2 per person and one of those 2 has to be for the person purchasing them..last year many groups of 4 got tickets from someone they paid to stand in line all night to buy them..with that being cut back drastically it should open things up some...having said that I am already in line:grin:...kidding

Has there been any indication of when they'll go on sale? Last year is was 1/14/17 which would be this Saturday.

Cycle has never done an online sale. I can't see that happening anytime soon

Dang didnt know it was called for by 4am. There must have been a bunch of people told to go home. Hopefully the new rules makes it last a bit longer now. 4 tickets per person was kinda insane and was asking for ticket mules.

BA Day Tickets - CASH ONLY
We are going to go with General Admission tickets at $100 and VIP at $125 this year. This includes a Festival Only bottle, glass and pretty exclusive access to all of the Barrel Aged beers on tap in one of the nicest settings in the world of beer fests. The event will be the same size as years past which gives everybody pretty short lines and easy access to all of the beers they want to try - we heard the requests for smaller pours to make it easier to enjoy a variety, or at least not see so much waste.
If due to the changes in price and allotment we significantly reduced demand and do not sell out on Saturday, we will post our plans for Sunday later on Saturday night.

Also, we would very strongly suggest and request that zero people drive to this event, we will reiterate that point again but seriously, these are 10% ABV+ beers, don't be dumb, we have loads of other methods to get around safely without driving so make a plan now, use it, stay safe.

Lastly, after some problems at another local establishment this past weekend we will have a zero tolerance for shenanigans in line for tickets, all parties involved in an altercation will be asked to leave. It is every person's job to avoid an escalating situation at Cycle Brewing, if you can't bring yourself to walk away then you don't belong at our event. "He started it" isn't an excuse.

Does anyone think these changes will significantly reduce demand?

I figured. Was surprised they even mentioned the possibility of demand going down in the post.

I think its realistically around 400 people. I believe by 4 am, there were 100 people in line. So if everyone bought 4 (most did) that puts the # right around there. This is just speculation though

A drastic and meaningful change would have been one ticket per person in line, period.
