Cycle/ccb bottle releases

I opened a bottle of Brazil Oberon tonight that had been lingering in the back of my fridge. Hot damn, what an awesome beer. I remember having it when it was first released and it was a little hot. Not anymore. Mellow bourbon notes with sweet coffee and vanilla. Great beer.

 

This was my favorite of the set.

 

Yes, unroasted (raw) hazelnut dominated our opinions. There were 6 of us at the share, vanilla was not mentioned much. It was our first beer of the night.

The Cycle Trademark Dispute Red Label (&+) was well received universally and may have been our favorite beer of the night amongst a pretty solid lineup of 15-20 bottles/cans. I probably should have bought more of these and left the VHMZ where I stayed in Largo instead of in my suitcase.

Really one of my favorite series from CCB over the years outside of last years Batch 8 which was strangely a non-descript DIPA which we all assumed was a last minute replacement for something they had messed up that was supposed to be the Real Batch 8...just dawned on me to that this Batch 9 sounds real similar to a beer they used to brew back in the early days called Improvisacion

 

Nah they've had other terrible 110k DIPAs in the past as well.

 

Capricho Oscuro blend 6 in CCB cooler. $15/12oz blend of bourbon imp stout, Bourbon Belgian dark strong ale, brandy double but brown, and bourbon Baltic porter

 

I just picked up some CO#6 bottles. The bartenders said they haven't tried it because it was such a small batch.

 

Anyone try the CO and care to chime in? At $15 it seems awfully pricey but I guess that's the standard around here these days at $30 bomber. The mixture of all beers seems a but odd but it may be good what do I know..

 

Is the price for one 12 ounce bottle? If so I'll be passing on that one.

A little rich for my blood too, but not new. CO was $15 for 12oz when it was last released 3 years ago. I passed on it then too.

I bought a bottle just to try it. Most were buying the limit.

 

Capricho Oscuro tastes pretty similar to DB Bolita. I get tons of bourbon and caramel.

 

I bought 4, I will second this evaluation, Bourbon...toffee/caramel...chocolate, and some bitterness.

It's good.... but caprichio batch 5 was fucking amazing.

 

110k on draft is delicious. The bottles are terrible. Anyone else have the same result?
