Both are Tampa/St.Pete limited releases so I'm sure most folks who have qty of Huna, also have qty of the most recent Cycle releases. I need help determining the trade values of the following: Cycle Rare DOS Cycle RareR DOS Cycle DCB DOS Cycle Nooner7 Cycle Nooner6 CCB Huna '12 CCB Huna '13 CCB Huna '14 CCB DB Huna You can copy and paste my list above and assign points to them so that trade ratios are easily established. Explanations and/or examples are appreciated but not required. I currently do not have a FT/ISO posted for these beers so please don't BM me inquiries. I'm not going to list which of the above are my FT and which are my ISO. Thanks
Hard to say but I would put the trade values at Cycle : Huna 14 RareR : 1:1+ Rare: 1:1+ Nooner 6 : 1+:2 Nooner 7 : 1:2 DCB : 1 small+ : 1 decent + Once you get into the older Hunas the Cycle releases will probably be all 1:1 with the exception of Nooner 6 & 7. Those would like be a + on the Huna side. DB Huna has traded for Rare+DCB + Nooner 7. I traded 4 of them (all but Nooner 6) for BA Abraxas. Overkill, yes, but I needed one a Perennial Abraxas release set. I think it would have to be a combo of: Rare or RareR + DCB + Nooner 6 or 7
Nooner 6 is the best bottle of the 5, so I would place that higher on the 'not gonna trade list' because I prefer Rye BA beers
Personally I think all of these will pull pretty similar bottles. Perhaps a tiny bit higher on the Cycle stuff, but that's just because they're the new thing and people have been offering less for Huna the past couple of months. Overall I'd say they're damn close.
i think GatorLCA is pretty close. though i'd personally value the cycle stuff even a little higher, but that's personal preference.
I'd value Cycle higher personally too, not on taste so much as significantly lower bottle counts. Huna has better name recognition and historical value; Cycle has lower counts and is benefitting from at least some hype from being the newer kid on the block. Point being, Cycle probably trades slightly better today, but come mid-March, I bet that's reversed again when all the tickers come looking for Huna 2015.
Thanks for the info everyone. My gut feeling was similar to the comments above so I feel better about setting up a trade or two involving these beers in the future.
