So I'm making my first trip to Cycle in a few weeks. Can anyone give me a heads up on what to expect? Hours, cash only, roving bands of neck bearded hipsters? I'm looking to pick up a few crowlers as well. Thanks!
They open at 3 PM on weekdays and close at midnight. They open at 12 PM on weekends and close pretty late. Cash only. Expect lots of hoppy beers, a porter and a few other beers. Barrel aged stouts will most likely not be on tap. They do not have their own glass growlers so bring your own if you want to fill a growler, or, pay for a crowler, which they do sell. Cycle draws lots of locals so you only see the neck bearded hipsters in droves at the bottle releases.
they also have merch for sale, so if that's your thing don't forget the extra cash for a shirt, snifter, taster, etc. Colt covered the rest of it. If your visit happens to coincide with a bottle release you will want to be following their Instagram and FB pages, and be ready to go earlier than when they open to get a # for bottle(s). It's not likely but you never know and I would hate for you to roll in at 2pm and miss out.
No special release visit planned. Just going on a Monday. I've heard Mondays are 5 dollar crowler days. Is there any limit on crowler purchases? Thanks again
No limit on growler/crowlers, crowlers are $6 and growlers are $5 if you bring glass for 32oz. Last I saw they still had nooner 8 on draft, which is the first thing I'd order while waiting for your fills. No lines or anything crazy, it's pretty slow and steady from 3-6 or so. Also bring change for the parking meters. They usually post the tap list on Facebook around 3pm on Mondays for the growler fills etc
If you have dogs, bring 'em, they're welcome too. (It's the only thing I could think of that everybody else hasn't posted).
Crank hasnt been on for growlers/crowlers much lately due to the increased amount going into local draft distro....they say theyre about caught up, but you might not be able to get it to-go when you go.
