This is a pretty sad story.

In March 2015, CYO Brewing opened in Owensboro, Kentucky. They were operating as a taproom and home brew supplies store (CYO: Craft Your Own) and planned on getting their brewing license soon after. They had all of their equipment and planned to become Owensboro's first brewery.

Flash forward to October 2019... and they finally get their federal brewing license! I believe they ditched the home brew aspect, but had still amassed something of a following. They announced they would be getting their state license soon, and would start serving their own beer the same day it would be issued. They later announced that date would be November 14.

Flash forward to November 13. The state, on one day's notice, tells them they will not be giving them their brewing license. They said on Facebook that there was one more thing that the state wanted from them, and they were working to get it sorted out.

Then today comes... one final announcement: they are closing for good. I imagine this is every brewery owner's worst nightmare.

Who knows? I've never been, but I've seen pictures of their taproom. Very impressive. Looked like a lot of money went in to it. I wonder if another brewery will try to move in.
