I just heard of this new brewery opening. Anyone been there yet? Has anybody had any of their beers? Any feedback?

I made it there opening week. Solid Ipa, and I liked the double chocolate stout. The owner/brewer wasn't around so I did not get to speak with him. The atmosphere is certainly brew pub style without the food. Bar with tv's and high tables. The only thing I did NOT like was the clear glass growlers, it's 2015! Lol

Funny you mention the clear growler. I was at a different place on Friday and saw a clear glass growler go out the door - wasn't sure if the customer had brought it in or if the place sold it to him, but I was surprised. First one of those I'd seen. I didn't even think they existed.

Thanks for the review of Cypress, I'd love to visit when I get a chance.

Stopped in last night. West Coast IPA and Double Chocolate Oatmeal Stout were not on (saved for today 8/1) but still had six to eight options available for pour. I went with the Hefe, Rye Saison, Double IPA, English Nut Brown. All solid (Nut Brown stood out for me) and certainly a good start considering I believe they're still in "soft" opening stage. Pours were $5 or $6. Flight was $6 for four. 32 ounce gremlin of Double IPA was $10.

Quaint tasting room with five seats at a bar and three high top tables. Guessing 15-20 people present and it was tight but not can't move tight. You have to do an actual tour (no video or laminated card) but mine was the express version so it wasn't a bother. Out of the way for me to be a regular but I'll stop in again.

I stopped by the brewery maybe a week after it opened. Beers were mostly solid but nothing out of this world or that blew me away. Didn't help that they did not have any of the double IPA (or any IPA) when we went. We were told the next day they'd have it back on tap. Pretty bummed not having an IPA to try.

Just stopped by here a few days ago. I particularly thought their Double Chocolate Imperial Oatmeal Stout, Strawberry Basil Wheat and 17-Mile IPA were all great beers. Rest of the offerings ranged from sub-par to solid.

Edit: I got to speak with the brewer about his operation. Pretty genuine guy.

I was also a bit taken by surprise by the clear growlers but it doesn't bother be much. Just covered it with a t-shirt to keep it out of the light. Brought home a 64oz of the Strawberry Basil Wheat :stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue:

    To update the thread:

    (1) I went there recently - this past November 11th. He is switching from clear growlers to amber.
    (2) Can confirm - brewer really is a genuine guy.
    (3) His Double Chocolate Imperial Oatmeal Stout is SO GOOD. I loved it. The 17Mile IPA is his take on the West Coast IPA. I liked it better than the regular Double IPA. The Strawberry Basil Wheat was deceptively good and I don't enjoy wheat beers.
    (4) They are releasing a beer in December that sounded sort of like Stone's Xocoveza, but given how good his Stout is, I'm guessing it could even be better.
    (5) I think this is one of the most overlooked breweries in NJ and could easily grow in 2016 past some of the others that are closer by Northern Jersey.
    (6) They're higher ABV pourings are $6 and the rest are $5. Can't really remember what the flight of $4 goes for.

Conclave Brewing in Flemington, Hunterdon County,NJ makes a Mexican Morning stout that has peppers, vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon and coffee. it is the best beer made in the state.

They still have clear growlers... I thought they'd be moving into amber by now.

Haven't been back yet. Might do a Cypress/Conclave pairing on a Saturday before the weather gets much nicer.

I went a couple weeks ago. I had 5 of the beers in a sampler. The vanilla Porter and one of their IPAs were memorable but that's about it. I wasn't really impressed
