Isn't that the way it always goes.

Don't worry, it happened to me the second time I went there. I think it happens a lot more than it should with that one.

Stopped by Cypress Brewing yesterday after work and thought it was a pretty nice place. Had the 17 Mile IPA and Insane in the Grain IIPA. Both were good, but I preferred Insane in the Grain. It was very smooth and drinkable.

I'll be curious to check out this place. Most small 'local' types of breweries have been a real disappointment for me (the beers usually just not being very good), but this one is close enough to where i live (less than 5 miles away) and although reports I've heard about it are very mixed (but with most people I've actually spoken to saying it's worth at least one visit), I'll probably venture there in the coming week. I pledge to go in with an open mind. I would love nothing more than to be pleasantly surprised. :grinning:

I wish they would update their tap lists, the one problem with Cypress is you could go on a day when their best brews are all on, and the next time, just two of them are on. So if it's your visit, your first impression could definitely become easily underwhelming or completely awesome.

DId anyone grab bottles of Sacc'd Lunch? I thought it was fantastic and for once I am really glad I grabbed the full allotment.

I picked them up yesterday and opened one immediately. I thought it was good, but not fantastic. I expected it to be a bit more in your face as I find a lot of Cypress' offerings can be over the top - Naughty, Coconut Brown (which I had yesterday and was fantastic), etc.

I gave me wife a sip and she said she couldn't pinpoint what she was tasting, but when I told her it was PB&J she said, "Oh, I get that."

So I'm craving Ramen and thinking of making the trip to New Brunswick for an awesome Ramen and realized Cypress is only 15 min away from the restaurant and opens at 2 so I could possibly hit it. My questions are
    1) Worth checking out? Thread seems to suggest yes.
    2) Where can I find what beers are on tap today?
    3) What beers are the must-tries? I'm not gonna get hammered in the afternoon and will prob do a flight and maybe a full pour so for those who've been what are your suggestions? From reading above it seems the IPAs are decent, which I'm the biggest fan of.

Ah that's a bummer. I found their website as well but wasn't sure if year round meant they were always there and currently available was their other stuff but this makes sense. Not sure I'll go out of my way for what's currently on tap. Eventually I'll get there though

Naughty stout is great if that's on. You should also check out Harvest Moon. They do excellent beers in all styles - my all time favorite Berliner was a one off there.

So they are opening at 10am instead of usual noon.

According to the response on their Facebook page they expect approx 40 cases of the raspberry, with a two 4pack limit that is 240 people. And obviously there will be more than enough of the regular if it is going to distro. So why the early open? Is this them trying to create hype or is there such an actual demand for their beer that they don't want to jam up their tasting room? I have nothing against Cypress and want nothing but good things for them; I have Insane and VIP in my fridge right now and occasionally visit the tap room. I am just curious.

my gut tells me a combo of both? If i recall their tap room is not that large, so maybe they want to keep that accessible ..

Yeah it was good though for me personally I am tiring of that style (the cloudy juicy IPA; I just don't find any of them drinkable, not just from cypress).
I will say I like what cypress is doing lately getting Insane, 17 mile and VIP into distribution. But I don't like their pricing
