Yes, but we're taking the metro for at least a day or 2.

I do know Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors sells singles, but don't remember their prices being great. Maybe slightly high. Rodman's(closer to Friendship Heights metro) doesn't sell singles, but might be a dollar or two cheaper per 4/6 pack.

I honestly don't remember how Connecticut Ave's prices are, I used to go there for their grey market beers. Others might know more. Whole Foods on P street is mentioned a lot, but I don't know their prices either.

The question about having a car is that it might be cheaper to go to stores in Northern Virginia.

Does northern VA get Bells and Great Lakes? We're going to the Arlington National cemetery one day. The only thing is that I'm respecting the wishes of my girlfriend and agreed to only go to 2 liquor stores (not counting DC Brau) while we're there.

Yes. And higher chance of Hardywood beers from Richmond.

Bells and great lakes will be easy to find in VA. If you can only go to two liquor stores, I would make it Magruders (right next to Chevy Chase and much better imo) and Rodman's. You should be able to get Bells and Great Lakes at any Wegmans or Giant in VA.

If you are driving to the cemetery, then it's easy to get to Total Wine Alexandria, (avoid rush hours) and you'll find all the Bell's and Great Lakes you want. As well as other goodies not in DC. If you are going to 2 stores, I'd do one in VA and one in DC, that way you'll get to buy stuff in VA that's not in DC etc.

I was planning on doing something like that, just wasn't sure if I wanted to go to a Maryland store or a Virginia store. Sounds like I'll go to the Total Wine and Magruders seeing that I'll be in that area.

    Thanks guys!

And if you are taking 95 back to Rhode Island and you can persuade your girlfriend to stop, go to State Line Liquors near the MD/DE border. It looks like nothing from the outside, but you will be happy you stopped.

Hit total wine in McLean...that's you're best get for Bells, Great Lakes and Hardywood, best prices too...hauling beer on the metro is bad idea jeans...

They have a bathroom and you can easily take a couple of side roads and bypass that toll.

To be fair, the toll is way cheaper than what you'd spend

If you go into Magruder's, then it's worth walking across the street to Chevy Chase. Prices can be high, especially if you go by the single. But they sell singles. And you might find something that doesn't happen to be on the shelf at Magruder's. You don't even have to move your car if you don't want to.
The only time I've seen KBS on the shelf was randomly in CC, right next to BCS.

Magruder's always has plenty of the standard Bell's and Great Lakes. And they sometimes have the rarer stuff. They also now do growler fills of a few beers.

Circle is a block or so down toward the city. They'll have something, but haven't had much that wasn't at the others when I've been in there. If you have time, check it out.

Ok cool, didn't know that they were literally right next to each other. I'm basically looking for the standards for Bell's and Great Lakes, but obviously will purchase some rarer stuff if it pops up. I'll probably stick to CC and Magruders due to my agreement of only 2 liquor stores while I'm down there. I might be able to convince the girlfriend to hit a third store since I found out that DC Brau will be closed to the public starting Sunday, of course...
