I'm going to be in D.C. tomorrow for work, and I was wondering if there are any places around the national mall to grab good beer and food?

The mall is not really near anything food/drink wise sans cafeterias ...

Your best bet is to walk a few blocks North to Chinatown area for options, or just get on the metro to go elsewhere with some walking depending on where you want to go.

Which portion of the mall? What price range?

If you mean tourist splurge and near White House...some drinks and a snack at Hay Off the Record, several okay beers and food at Old Ebbitt Grill, followed by upper end BMC at $8 per at W rooftop, then decent selection (8 beer) good micro at Willard outdoors (Forget what it is called, the closest to the Treasury). Then head towards the Congress end, see that, and bounce to Chinatown.

I ended up at R.F.D. in Chinatown. I was able to try some beer I can't get in Minneapolis, so I enjoyed myself. The food wasn't the greatest though.
