I was at Total Wine last night and saw that they have put Viking Fraoch in 12oz bottles at 4.99 instead of the 500ML it was in before at I think 13 dollars, it may have been more. But this is exciting. I love that sour and I can drink more of it now. But I picked up their Scuppernong & Lily sour since I'd never seen it. Came in a beautiful bottle and was a nice sour. I am excited to try more from them. I need to visit the brewery. How do y'all feel about them?
Big fan of the Viking Fraoch as well. Picked up a single for $4.99 at Total Wine as I didn't see any 4-packs but did come across a few 4-packs at Harris Teeter a few days later for $11.99. Glad to see they are making this beer more available and in a more consumable alternative to the 500ML. I've heard a few concerns about the brewery itself from others but personally have not visited yet and still plan to do so in the future to wage my own opinion
I didnt see four packs either, only singles. But a four pack for 11.99 is a steal. And I was never aware of its location, and I've been to CLT a few times recently. Sucks I could have gone by now!
D9 is really underappreciated. Ezekiel is great too if you have a chance to pick that one up. Their Imperial Pumpkin beer was killer last year too. I've been to the brewery a couple times and I've always enjoyed it. It's up on Lake Norman so it's not really in Charlotte, and the drive is a real pain going up 77, especially on the weekends.
I'll have to keep an eye out for Ezekiel. I only saw Viking Fraoch and the Scuppernong & Lily sour when I was at total wine. Going to a different bottle shop today for some Juiceless, will see if they have it. I'm probably going to Mecktoberfest at the end of September, will try to hit it D9 on the way back to Raleigh.
If you can't find Ezekiel in Raleigh, I saw some at the Total Wine in Charlotte (Woodlawn road location a couple miles from OMB) last time I was there so they might still have some when you're down this way!
I stopped at D9 today on my way down to Greenville for the Birds Fly South Ale Project grand opening. I've been a fan of D9 since moving to NC last year and their Systema Naturae offerings have been among my favorite from the area this year (especially batch 1). They have a nice little brewery in an industrial park that is definitely worth visiting. Friendly staff, nice facility and patio, interesting small batch beers, and great specials. We don't have kids, but they're one of the only breweries I've visited with a small play area for children, so if you have little tikes tagging along, everyone would have a great time!
