Hi all, any good suggestions for downtown Dallas to get some good beers? Even breweries that are open to have a drink would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Gingerman's selection is repetitive IMO, I'd say go to Common Table or Union Bear. If you're there on a saturday, do the Deep Ellum tour.
Common Table is my number 1 with Meddlesome Moth 2nd and Gingerman 3rd. I have not had a chance to hit up Union Bear yet but I have heard good things. Also the Deep Ellum tour is worth checking out.
The Gingerman has 80 taps or so, but a good 40 of them are just your generic run of the mill stuff (Lite, Bud, Coors, Harp, Stella, etc), the rest are good but the gems are few and far between. The Common Table has 24 taps and the Moth has 40+ and they are always good craft beers, and there is always at least 1 or 2 hard to find one, a cask, etc. The Deep Ellum tour on Saturdays is great. Union Bear has about 40 taps also. It has one Pabst Blue Ribbon tap and I'd say 4 to 7 other 'safe craft beers' like Franconia Wheat and stuff like that. But the other 30 some taps are pretty good craft beers. And they will have one tap of their own beer, probably by late March or early April (with luck). Not too far from downton are the Bottle Shop and the Libertine (across the street from each other) and Strangeways on Fitzhugh. All those are worth your time.
