I know it's a pretty crummy area for the craft scene; however, outside of the Flying Saucer is there anywhere mainly in the Ft Worth area worth checking out?? Any bottle shops would be great as well, although not sure what I would obtain....Deschutes, maybe?? Cheers all !!

Rahr & Sons Brewery is in Ft. Worth. I've never toured their brewery, but I've heard it's worth a trip.

    In Fort Worth:

Bars: Gingerman in the west end, T&P on the south side of downtown. Some might recommend Brewed or Live Oak in the hospital district, I'm not a huge fan of Brewed. Flying Saucer is probably your best bet for Texas beers although Gingerman is most likely to have a cask going at any given moment.

Bottle Shops: Specs and Total Wine, both in west/southwest Fort Worth. There's a majestic on the very east side of town off I-30 that's not too bad. If you are more in the mid-cities Hall's in Colleyville is a good choice.

If you are also rolling out to Dallas there's several bars I'd recommend. The best bottle shops IMO in Dallas are Specs and Total Wine but if you're in Fort Worth it will basically be the same selection.

DFW is far from crummy when it comes to the beer scene.
