It's nothing to worry about. Just yeast sticking to the sides of the carboy.

You have nothing to worry about. Along he journey you are going to see yeast do a lot of different things, it has a mind of its own.

As stated that is completely normal.

that looks to be completely normal.
but your stress is not helping things. yeast can tell. they're like dogs.

also, making sure the airlock is nice and snug is a guarantee that your beer will explode when you are out of the house. you will come home to a wall of sticky beer. just place the bung in the opening. a good fermentation can produce way more CO2 than the air lock can handle. all that pressure builds up until the whole contraption erupts like a volcano.

many of us, myself, just place a piece of foil over the opening for the first few days of fermentation, then use an airlock. or just allow the airlock to rest in the opening without having it pushed in securely.
    Cheers.

Good deal, I was pretty worried about that. Its almost two weeks into ferm right now and that was the first time Ive seen the yeast do that so it definitely caught me off guard.

I had a blowoff tube in it for the first 5ish days then put the airlock on. I dont think the krausen will make it up there again will it?

You should be clear here; the bulk of the fermentation will be complete by day 5.

    Cheers!

Oh I didnt answer the smell and taste, smells amazing. And once its dry hopped I think I may die if it smells any better. As for taste, well... I dont know. Im too concerned to take the bung off to taste it, but Ill be taking a SG reading here soon so ill update on the taste then.

I've found the more often you look at your beer the more you'll worry about it

Hahaha, yes. The more I watch it the more I worry and anticipate tasting it. Like seeing Christmas presents under the tree weeks before the big day.
