Tonight Dancing Bear in Waco is tapping 6 barrel aged Texas beers:

    (512) Whiskey Barrel Double Pecan Porter
    Karbach Bourbon Barrel Aged Hellfighter
    Deep Ellum Numb Comfort Barleywine
Thirsty Planet Franklin BBQ Smoked Porter
    Lakewood The Temptress
    Austin Beerworks Battle Axe

I'm very interested in the Numb Comfort and Battle Axe myself. I've already got my growlers in the car for after work.

Anyone had the BA Franklin Smoked Porter, Temptress, or Battle Axe?

BA Temptress is my favorite barrel aged beer from Texas. Numb Comfort is really nice though the barrel didn't come through as much as I would have liked.

    Dancing Bear is so awesome.

I was planning on skipping over the Temptress. Typically milk stout are just a tad too sweet for me, but I may have a glass while I'm there.

BA Temptress is greatness. Don't fill those growlers until after you've tried it.

Yes it is. Apparently there is also a Pub in Waco named that.

Glad I did just that. I tried each one and wound up taking home a growler of BA Temptress. that beer blew me away. I feel like an idiot for even considering passing this up. Numb Comfort was really good also, and Battle Axe was as well. Hell of an event down there this evening.

Good stuff. I was skeptical, too.

Really jealous you got a growler to sip on at the house! Curious - how much was the fill? 64 or 32oz?
