Dancing Gnome in Sharpsburg, PA (outside of Pittsburgh) just began canning their beers. Thought I would make a thread for it.

First up was Lustra - pale ale and second up was Infinite Highway.

Anyone go to the releases yesterday and today? Hows the beer tasting. Cheers.

I'm moving out to Pittsburgh in a few months so I've been scoping out breweries out there - really glad to see them canning, I'm excited to try them out.

It was on their instagram last week. Either way, they confirmed it on their twitter and Facebook. Looks like they said the better one or two is amazing!

Both on Wednesday this week according to their email. I thought there was an issue with canning last week. That's why it was 2 different days. They also want people to go into the brewery garage door for cans.

Do the cans tend to last into the next few days or are they snatched up pretty quickly?

They aren't having large yields of their cans per brand. This one only yielded 45 cases per brand. From what I hear, there were 40 people already lined up before open.

I'll be in Pittsburgh this weekend (Fri-Sun). Looks like they have a can release Wednesday & Saturday this week. Have their yields gotten any better since the last post here in March? The only time I could get there would probably be Friday or Sunday.

Also, do they do growler fills of all their beers and will they fill any growler?

Per their email newsletter from today:

"And finally, the main event. On Saturday, we'll be opening up with ~130 cases of hyper-fresh Infinite Highway cans. We haven't released this beer since back in early April, so needless to say, we're all quite excited about it.

    We have no idea what to expect for turnout, and as always, we're going to do our absolute best to make the experience quick, efficient, and enjoyable for everyone who chooses to come out. Here's what we know;
    • Doors at 12 noon!
    • ~130 cases (final tally Saturday morning)
    • Limit to be determined prior to opening. It will most likely be 3 4-packs/person.
    • Can sales through the brewhouse
    • Taproom open for regular service with Infinite Highway on draft.
    • Growler fills of IH will be limited to one 64 oz, or two 750mL fills.
    • Growlers for all other brands are not limited (within reason).
    • We'll have coffee and donuts from our buds over at Just Good Donutsfor anyone who comes by early.
    • Food Baby will be on hand with full brunch menu for anyone who wants something more substantial.
Anything super pertinent will be announced on Twitter and potentially IG, so hit the links below to stay updated. Hope you're as excited as we are about our first higher volume release."

The Wednesday release will be gone by Friday, hard to say how long Saturday's cans will last. If you follow them on Instagram they usually update with how many cases are left/when they sell out. They fill other brewery's growlers, can't comment on all growler designs however. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info @RandyRanderson. Will probably head there Sunday on my way home. I don't expect there to be any cans left but will be happy to fill some growlers.

Had a GREAT time at my first ever DG release yesterday! Thankfully it didn't get any warmer than it did for the hour outside for and then the line, compared to all my other release experiences, moved SO smoothly! (Of course, that also meant it got crowded quickly in the taproom, but that also was more than worth it.)

I look forward to attending another DG release as this was handled so well. I've yet to try the Infinite Highway (as just running down for the release turned in to a day spent visiting beer places/drinking beer), but super clean looking cans that I can't wait to open.

And even though I didn't get any (as I didn't know where they were as it was my first release), that was so cool having the coffee and donuts there for the line. I don't recall running across that one anywhere in the releases that I've attended. Major kudos on the whole experience, Dancing Gnome. Thank you!

Heading to Pittsburgh this weekend. Do the can release beers normally stick around on tap for growler fills? Seeing as they're releasing galaxy jam on Wednesday, it's unlikely that i'll be able to get ahold of any cans. But will it stick around on tap? Thanks for the help everyone.

Yeah the cans will be gone by Wednesday evening but they will have it on tap. They don't do growler fills of it until the cans are gone to limit it. Just check their tap list online before you go, should be updated. It should at least be there on Saturday, just hard to say since it is a new beer.

Thanks. I'm going try to make it over Friday when we get there. My friend lives in upper lawrenceville, so it should be pretty convenient.

In town for one night. Curious if Dancing Gnome does growler fills. If so, is there a limit?
