No New Glarus beer is EVER officially retired. If DM takes a year off, they will likley bring in Crack'd Wheat, or if we are truly lucky-Black Wheat! Still have a few bottles of that from '10

Looking forward to your "I don't like this grapefruity 9 month old IPA" post.

Snobbery aside, if you don't like cloves, plus you drink an old hefe, I'm really not sure what you'd expect.

Absolutely love this beer. Would hate to see it disappear.

I want Yokel to return. My favorite "lawnmower" beer ever!

I'm not a hefe fan, so don't mind seeing this one go.

This is the same page that has Staghorn listed as retired. Do anybody really believe that beer isn't coming back? Like others have said, it's a seasonal thing. This new calender isn't going to show Staghorn or Dancing Man because neither are winter/early spring beers. Thus they are "retired" until they release more of the calender.

This is a big reason why I hate the way they release their schedule. I get why they do it from a marketing standpoint, but don't buy the creativity garbage on their site.

Doubt you will ever see either of those beers again, sadly. I loved Olde English Porter, but too many people didn't bother to read the label and were put off by the acidic, vinegar like flavor. The brewery caught so much heat from people thinking they had sold sour beer that they had to address it in their beer FAQ. Iced Barleywine was amazing, but likely won't be reproduced because there is a state law that was (reportedly) broken while making that beer. Something with the icing process conflicts with a law so I doubt you will see that one again unless something has changed.

Actually it was 2009. I too have been holding onto a couple of bottles that are now going on four years old. The beer isn't meant to age, but they were so good it was hard to see them go without the promise of more being released. IN 2009 Black Wheat was a March through May release that lead into Dancing Man for the summer.

I am the number one drinker of Dancing Man on Untappd for a reason... it is a damn good beer! And for the same reason, thetomG is the number two drinker.

Black Top is replacing the Fat Squirrel this year for a year-round beer.

Lets get a round of applause for NG actually releasing their seasonals in the season they are meant for!

No way it's going away. It's a very popular beer for those that want something more than Spotted Cow, but don't like bitter IPA's. #18 Pale Ale on BA.

While maybe a bit sarcastic, that wasn't snobbery -- it was knowledge of style and knowing what to expect from that style. Try most well-made Bavarian Hefeweizen and you will taste clove; some strong, some light. If clove is not a flavor to your liking, the style is not for you and therefore shouldn't be criticized by you for being what it's supposed to be.

For these same reasons I refrain from reviewing Gueuze. It's the one style I've never been able to like, but I understand what it is and respect that.
