This place has to put up the most detailed and informative beer descriptions in the state if not the country. They are very much appreciated and definitely spur me to stop by when in town. If you haven't checked them out you really should.

My favorite overall taproom in Minneapolis. Hoping Rob decides to expand in the near future.

I love the taproom. I feel the beer is well worth it too. I love how they usually have a randall going.

Wait, how is Dangerous Man going to expand without moving to a different location?

There has been talk of annexing an adjacent storefront.

What are they going to do when the hipsters' attention is directed from craft beer to something else? And the hipsters' attention will be directed elsewhere eventually.

Count me among those that think Dangerous Man isn't that great.

He has no room to expand.

    Counted:wink:
I agree that nothing they have done has been amazing but the chocolate milk stout is a delicious beer that is not readily available anywhere else in MN and all of their beers have been dependably good, not great.

I think the limitations of space have also limited creativity as well and would be interested in what they would do with more space.

I stopped in recently and I wasn't that impressed. The beer is decent but not so good that I'd, personally, deem it worthwhile to make another trip out there anytime soon. Something seems to be missing from a lot of the beers he brews, I can't put my finger on it. I like the experimentation and the creativity of some of the beers but those things coupled with exclusivity don't always make something great. It feels to me like there's a bit of a hype machine running at Dangerous Man.

All of that being said, I'm completely aware that opinions are like a-holes, and I think that it's just a tad pumped up. I went in with high expectations which ultimately led to moderate disappointment. But I do agree that the chocolate milk stout was good--if he put it on nitro, it would move it up from good to outstanding, and maybe I'd make a repeat visit just to check it out.

That said, I'd rather not hear your opinions after a few burritos locos!

I am quite a fan boy of Dangerous Man. Also heard they wanted to buy an adjacent store and hopefully do a few barrel aged beers. I like going in and having something new to try almost every single time I am in there. Really dig their IPA, IIPA, Matchbox Coffee Porter, Coconut Milk Stout and their Chocolate Milk Stout.

They should expand, then maybe their growler prices will come down to earth.

Agreed, I have a growler from them, but I never get a fill due to the price. HammerHeart has some crazy growler prices too, but a lot were purchased while I was in there.

OK...I started this thread and stopped there for the second time on Saturday with every intention of buying a growler despite their high prices....the descriptions on-line sound great but the beers I had did not match the descriptions...they were fine but not elite...so I passed on growlers and went over to Town Hall and got three awesome growlers for fair prices...I'm finding almost all my growler money these days goes to Town Hall or fills at Casonova in Hudson....the two most fair prices around and great beer...win...win....until someone knocks my socks off I will not pay obscene prices at most other places....Have not been to Hammerheart but it better be damn special for me to buy growlers if their prices are that high...

Yeah, HammerHeart has great beer, but I was pretty shocked at the price of their growlers.
They had a disclaimer at the bottom of the growler list that said 'prices subject to change'.
I told my buddy that they better change, if they want to keep selling growlers - holy shit were they $$$

My guess is that these guys don't want to run out of beer in their taprooms... At Hammerheart I got the impression that allocations are tight right now. Imagine if prices were in line with other places like PDBC... I for one would have purchased two or three growlers on my trip. I bet down the line the prices will be subjected to a change
