Anyone else notice an off taste with the latest release of Dark Horse Plead the 5th? Best way I could describe it is oxidized and tasted like a mouth full of pennies. I have always loved this beer and don't know if this is just a random bad bottle or is this something that other people have noticed.

Had one a few days ago and didn't get any oxidation. It was fantastic...rated it 4.37.

As an aside, it had one of the biggest yeast cakes I've ever seen in a commercial bottle-conditioned beer.

I had my first one of this latest batch last weekend and thought it didn't taste all that great. However, it was the last beer of the evening and my palate was a bit fatigued. I didn't get the metallic taste, but it just tasted a bit off. Nothing like I remember from previous years. I'm going to try again soon with a fresher palate.

I tried some and I thought it had a weird tartness to it, almost like a sour stout, id that how it generally tastes?

I had a BBPt5 this weekend and it was a touch oxidized. It was the most recent batch too, weird. It's the only one I've tried so I have no comparison. Probably won't seek another out, maybe I should based on the reviews...

Had one last night.... seemed good to me even though it was the first time I've had one... I usually drink big stouts, so if there was something seriously wrong with it I'd like to think I would have noticed it.

Got some in a trade and drank one of them a few days ago and well it was a very smooth drinking stout. Hope to enjoy the others in the future.

Had another last night and it tasted perfect. I don't know what it was with the one the other night. Same 4-pack, had them both as my first beer of the night. Oh well hopefully the rest of them are good.

Most definitely didn't have that oxidation taste in any of mine.

Glad you at least had one good example to enjoy!

agreed, glad the next one was good.

I had one when it first came out and it was great. put another one in the fridge last night to enjoy sometime soon. I picked up a couple 4 packs of it, so not worried about drinking it all up yet. Might save a bottle or two til next winter and see what happens, don't know if it is a wasted effort.
