I had the '09 a while back and absolutely loved it, so I was wondering what an '08 goes for these days?

I know this has nothing to do with trading, but does anyone know how it is holding up?

I traded a Kentucky Monk (Jackie O's) + for one this past summer. That's probably on the lower end of what they're going for at this point.

It's still holding up, but I fear not for too much longer. The last one I had (in October? November?) seemed to me like it was just at the tipping point where was about to head south. Still one of my favorite beers ever though.

Hmmm, I don't know much about Jackie O's. Would something like a Fou Foune or Lou pepe Geuze do it?

Oh and by "not too much longer" would you guess it would still be okay come June/July August?

Currently trading one away for ~$15-20 of off-the-shelf stuff to a past trading partner.

I would think a Fou Foune probably would. Not sure about the Lou Pepe Geuze.

I think it will still hold up fairly well until then. I just don't think it's quite the same beer as it once was.

Too bad you're not a past trading partner of Rempo's!

Yeah, I can imagine that 4 years in the bottle will knock it a bit. That said, I recently drank a BBXX and it was sublime!

If I had another, I'd be happy trading for the most recent Fou' Foune or any vintage LP Gueuze. Your mileage may vary with other traders though...

    '08 is sold at DLD?

I would trade an '08 for a ticket.

Ah ok, now I understand

    Sadly I don't have one.

I recently traded a bar fly for one. It's still drinking great, but maybe not for too much longer. It was the best non-barrel aged impy that I ever had.

Damn, I thought Bar Fly was a bit of a whale! It seems I underestimated the value of the '08.

I got it for a berserker and a marshal zukhov a month before so I didn't mind. I liked the 08 DL much better than the bar fly.

Bar fly has more trade value in my opinion than an 08 dark lord. I traded a moas 10 plus a parabola 10 for one not so long ago in person here in CA

Bar fly does have more trade value right now, but I liked the DL so much more that I didn't really care. I wanted another so I traded it to the first person with a reasonable offer.

I had an '08 Dark Lord a few weeks ago and man was I disappointed. It was sad to see that one of the best vintages was now over the hill. Lots of sediment, chalkiness, and card board flavors.
