In the past it has, but last year it was only served in the brewpub. If they set up a tent like the XV party, and serve it there, it will be less likely to still be around. The ticket is good for a free taste of this year's DL, so they will probably have it other than the pub. My guess is the tent and taps will be spread out like at XV. Not sure what other positives from XV they could use that was better than last year's dld.

That makes sense. Well hopefully I can find tickets in the next few weeks and this wont end up being something I need to worry about. Thanks for the info.

I find the fact that tickets are selling for the prices they are on ebay kind of sad. It only encourages it to be worse every year from now on. I'd really rather see the scalpers stuck with their tickets. Maybe it would force them to sell them for a reasonable price as the event gets closer.

i'm just worried they'll try and jack them up too close. and they might even try and go just to get the dl and re sell those

All completely logical. I'm still kind of sad that it happens. In my perfect world the screws would be put to the scalpers and the ebay-ers that sell the bottles after the fact too. *sigh* Oh well.

yeah I wish we could all boycott them. Or that 3floyds make it illigle to resell tickets. Can tickets be name specific? I've never heard of any tickets being name specific but there as to be some way they can prevent scalpers because it's really ruining the event for a lot of people.

I just bought tickets for Refused in July and the tickets are will-call pickup at the show only with my. That seems to be they way to make tickets person specific, but I'm not sure if 3F can handle that for thousands of people like an actual concert venue does.

yeah that's true their pub is tiny. I just really wish there was some way to stop scalpers. Like we can all say we won't buy from them but people are going to break because they really really want to go. I want to go more than anything in the world. I really don't understand how they sell out in less than a minute. I clicked the link exactly at noon, it took a minute to load the page. clicked to get tickets in my cart (I went for group C first) and they were sold out. I then proceeded to try any combination of tickets in any group including just asking for 1 and they were sold out. I kept clicking in vein for 40 min but still nothing. I hope next year they do the in person ticket sales first to take care of people who live by them first. The online could then open up to whoever didn't get those and the rest of the nation.

So if this is your theory, they should just sell their beer to the locals because they live by the brewery and if there is any left over, they will ship it out.

As far as the scalpers, I did a quick check; there seems to be about 40 tickets on ebay and Stubhub. If FFF sold 2000 tickets, that is 2% of the total. As far as trying to buy them, it sucked for me as well. Out of the 6 of us trying, one scored. But you know what...all of us are going because we know others who got some and they are sharing. Cost? Just some beer.

Don't take those sale prices too seriously. I'm pretty sure there are some of us out there making it difficult for the scalpers and running up the bids with no intention of paying those prices. Maybe next year the scalpers wont waste their time. Not that I would do something like that, I'm just saying.

On ebay there are a couple that sold at like $500 by a person with 0 history so I am sure that was what you are talking about. The vast majority sold for $100-200 a ticket it looks like and by established ebayers. You need to work harder

They could have some amazing chefs come in again and make awesome food. They need to make sure they have enough to not run out right away again. I also liked the line format. I was fairly close to the front so it didn't take long to get in, and I know it sucked for those who showed up late because they were stuck outside the gates for 4+ hours, but the crowd inside the gates seemed much less condensed because of it. Didn't seem so packed at XV as DLD.

the majority of the tickets tickets are sold withing the first days. and that doesn't include all the scalpers that tried and failed. their ruining this for us and pretty much everyone agrees.

XV was less congested, but there were also less than half as many tickets sold. 2500 tickets plus 1 each for all the investors compared to 6000 or so for DLD. Quick scan of ebay's completed trades shows roughly 60-80 tickets sold so far. Didn't bother looking at craig's list or stubhub, but lets say 200-300 total are sold on the high end. This is only 3% to 5% of the total tickets.

I don't think ebay sellers are as big a problem as a lot of people. Its usually a relatively small number of tickets or number of bottles of beer that are sold. I don't care what people do with their property and its not worth getting pissed over it. I am more shocked what people actually pay for beer or tickets on ebay. I think $100 or more for a 22oz bottle of beer is crazy. But thats just me.

I feel like it's more like 10% of scalpers/bottle sellers actually sold and 20-25% of the traffic clogging up the ability to get tickets. I hope this all turns out just like the Bennie baby bubble.

Yep, the real "problem" is the popularity of the event has outgrown the 6000 tickets available. Hence you have scalpers looking to make a buck, but that's much less of a problem than what some people make it out to be.
