It was the lady. Word went around by us, I was maybe 130 back in line, and several people ditched their bottles, several others opened up some they brought for trade. The lady did check people but it seemed they were a little more lenient once the line started really moving.

You guys are talking about the Hampton in Merrillville, correct? If so, I'll reserve my room ASAP.

The anticipation for DLD is killing me already.

Whats the best way to convince my buddy who is coming to DLD with me to come to this? Hes all concerned about sleeping in his own bed (even if its only until 3am when we would leave for FFF)

I checked the Hampton in Munster today and they only have rooms left for Fri night, Sat is all booked up. I booked a room for Fri and Sat night at the Courtyard Marriott in Hammond. Has anyone else booked a room there yet? I stayed there for the XV party and it was just about full with ppl that were attending XV so I would assume it will be the same for DLD. Def wouldn't mind making my way over to the Hampton on Fri night tho and partying with u guys/gals, sounds like it's going to be a rager! I don't have many "whales" to bring but I will be bringing a ton of shit from all over the states and prolly a handful of growlers from the local CHI breweries (Haymarket, Revolution, Piece, Half Acre etc.). Just depends on whos pouring what at that time.

I'm staying at the Hampton Inn Saturday night and was going to stay in Chicago Friday to check out the city for the first time. This is definitely making me wonder if I should just head down to Munster Friday.

My Brother and I will be at the Hampton Inn in Munster on Friday and Saturday. Will have a few to share. Nothing too crazy but will be there for the party. I am getting thirsty just reading these posts. Coming in from MN so if you have request IE surly or another MN local let me know. I can usually score what I need.

Finally! After seeing all the posts about "I can see Three Floyds from my front porch", and "If I piss out my back window I hit Greg Hall in the face", I finally have my own claim to fame - I live only 3 blocks from Ream's, and I can tell anyone that doesn't know that it is the nuts. Three words - beef jerky dip!

We watched people wait in line all day to get into the pub last year. At about 7-8pm, the crowds started to leave the event so we got in line and it only took 20 minutes to get inside...vanilla oak aged DL, as well as a handful of other BA beers were still on tap.

Last year we basically took over the lobby (nobody but beer geeks at the hotel anyway) and like 8-10 of us started opening bottles. It quickly scalated to more like 40 people, 4 tables of REALLY good stuff, and the hotel/securty cop were all really cool about it as long as we kept the noise down.

I know the plan is to do the same/similar this year, our same little group is going and will be cellar diving for a week in advance to bring some good coolers, everyone is welcome to anything whether you bring shtuff or not. it was a TON of fun, probably even better than the shares the next morning, so i would definitely make the effort.

I'm not sure what all is showing up, but i know my buddy just returned from Belgium (not that his cellar doesn't have more beer than the country, anyway), so i imagine he'll bring some really great sours, and i'll be touting a sizable load of bruery/Goose island stuff. It's going to be crazy-good!

If I wouldn't have had a 2.5 hour drive and some serious sobering up to do, I would have done that too. But there was simply no way. Bummed I missed out on trying the BA Moloko, but I imagine I'll see it again sometime in my life.
