People lining up already? Don't know what time they started in past DLD, but I know that at Darkness last year people were lining up at like 2pm that Friday.

Please help confirm for me guys... they ARE allowing people to bring bottles in through the gates correct? I'm just double checking cuz a buddy said he didn't think they were though that was only based of the XV party and not some specific knowledge I don't think.

Please help me confirm that we CAN bring beer inside to share. Thanks!

The website says a few bottles "within reason" is fine. You can check for yourself, but I'm not sure what more confirmation is possible.

I hope that six in a backpack is acceptable.

It will be, at least according to their twitter responses. Backpacks are definitely cool, and they said as long as you can carry it on you, you are fine. Today someone asked if a soft shell cooler with shoulder strap is ok, and they said yes.

I live nearby, scoped it out, and the no parking signs are within the subdivision behind 3Fs too. Thought I was brilliant for thinking of this "free, easy parking" too  Not to mention, there are railroad tracks and a ditch between the subdivision and the brewery. The ditch is like a swamp, thick with cattails and stuff.

If anyone on this thread is attempting to be first in line, please please start the line going SOUTH down the road. I prefer it that way anyway.

It brings a good amount of the line in this large parking lot area with at least some protection from wind/rain with that long building. Also it those people would have a large open area for fun activities, stead of right on the road where people are parking and driving.

Last minute DLD questions for anyone in the know...

    1. Regarding glassware, A: Do you bring one, or have one provided to you in the gates? B. If it is the latter, how do bottle shares before getting in work?

    2. What's the smoking policy? Outside the gates, or anywhere outside?

    3. How terrible exactly is the bathroom situation?

    4. Is Dark Lord on tap so you can try it before you buy the bottle allotment?

Yes you can try it. But let me know if you don't like it and want to sell your bottles!

    1. You will get small cups at the guest taps that you could hang on to and use for tasting and sharing. You can also buy glasses as they will have their store open. I do know that people in line will have plastic cups. I will be bringing a few sleeves of cups for anyone who wants a taste at my table.

    2. No clue sorry. Don't smoke and never paid attention. Its all outside so I am guessing no smoking under the tents, free for all anywhere else.

    3. Tons of porto-potties. The entire building will be gated off and before 10am they will let people in 1 at a time to use the johns (if its similar to XV). After the gates open, you cannot get in to use the restroom in the gates, though they might leave a couple of johns outside for those in line.

    4. Your ticket USUALLY gets you 2 free tastes of various Dark Lords or other FFF on tap. However, you probably will not get your real DLD ticket until you are through the line and in the building, and that is what they punch to show you got your tastes. So you might not have much of a chance. However the regular DL should be available on tap at their table in the guest tent that you can pay for.

    1. I bring a little tasting glass with me. It holds 2 ounces.

    2. I was smoking while in line the past few years.

    3. The bathroom situation was much better last year then it was the year before. I can say that I did not have to wait to use one at all.

    4. I am pretty sure that you get a pour with your ticket this year.

I think Intelligentsia also sells their small glass snifters filled with coffee. Although those run about $12 per.
