I don't recall any BA 3Floyd beers outside. 3Floyds had some of their regulars like alpha king, dreadnaught, gumballhead, zombie dust etc. for sale and then there were guest taps. Maybe I'm mistaken though?

They definitely had DL and Vanilla on tap somewhere. With your ticket you got 1 free sample and you could choose Vanilla at least, maybe thats what I am thinking of.

If thats the case....I might have to send someone to the line to get into the pub heh.

Is this true for the random BA and other limited stuff they offer, that the first people through the line get the opportunity to buy it? I thought I read somewhere that they offer sales of the limited stuff randomly.

You get a ticket when you enter the warehouse. It's a scratch off and if you win you can pick what you want to buy.

Thanks for the heads-up, this will be my first DLD and this thread is really my only source of information on what to expect.

That is how they did it at DLD last year. However, at the XV party later that year, it was first come first serve.

There was also only one time slot in which to buy the beer at the anniversary party, as opposed to three at DLD last and this year.

Ummm... This didn't happen at DLD 2011. You had to go to the pub to get the DL variants. Great stuff on guest taps and plenty of good local stuff... But they didn't have DL pouring outside.

They definitely did this at DLD 2010. They had a little stand set up right by the exit from the brewery. You got 3 hole punches I think for free beer tastings. I remember getting DL, Vanilla DL, and something else I cant recall now. I thought it was the same last year though I am a little hazier as I was a little more drunk.

I think something like this will be back for 2012. We were bummed about the lines for the brewpub. Will definitely try the "come back later" or hit the pub first thing. We're all group A, so I don't know that it'd be a good idea to wait on getting our beer... If the line is a mess like XV we will want to get that over with right away.

2010 - Near the tent across from the brewpub entrance. Created yet another snaking line.
2011 - Only in the brewpub. Most people never got to try it.
    2012 - ???

2011 - Scratch-off tickets for the chance to purchase BA Dark Lord. Equal amounts of each variant were set aside for Sessions A, B, and C
XV - First come, first serve

it probably wouldn't be super fresh. it should hit here the end of march and comes every month and a half, so not again until mid may. what i could bring would be a month old, but still delicious

My group got a PvW during the C group. The only one that was gone for us was the Chili version.

I'm not sure about one-upping anyone - my intentions are just to bring a lot of really good beers for people to enjoy. They'll be open for all to try. The more BAs the better....

This is ridiculous. Share a bottle of water with me and I'll give you first pour of anything I open. Share some toilet paper with my wife and she'll probably try to gift you unopened bottles to keep.

yeah, the 2 other guys that rode with me received the last bit of Rare before it kicked, mighty generous of MNBearsfan to share it with some of the other guys in our "group"

Best beer in the guest taps for my money was BA Sodom, which I believe was a Revolution / FFF collab. I WISH I could have gotten more of that. Man, Revolution is just knocking it out of the park on their barrel aging!

My brother and I were in group "C" last year and he was able to get a bottle of PVW Dark Lord, but i'm not sure if they had set numbers of each style for each of the groups.

I missed out on this and I wish I had seen it. My favorite of the guest taps was Surly's Moe's Coffee Bender. I knwo there were others I supremely enjoyed but that one sticks out in my mind

I also thoroughly enjoyed the last 2 glasses of Dark Lord coffee. They even came with 3 Floyds coffee glasses that were pretty awesome.
