Some may not even be conditioning on the added ingredients yet (not sure they've ever divulged their process). And once that's done they probably need to test that it's not infected.

 

They have to know what they will plan on having. Most BA beers sit for a while. Definitely more than a month. They may not know the amounts of each beer, of if they turn out to be sellable. I am guessing they wait until they get it all packaged/ready to be packaged before they release any information. That is what I would do.

 

I would say most probably are, but some may not be. A month is a short period for a big beer like DL to sit on ingredients, and be able to get a good pick up of characteristics.

 

For what it's worth, I got Handjee 38/1227 last year. That's ~12% of people attending that get it. Hopefully they up those quantities...

 

Would anyone buy a ticket if every variant was aged in some shitty Pinotage barrel with elephant semen? Probably!

True. But with Rue D’Floyd having issues last year, in addition to clearly not having the yield of BA Dark Lord they thought they would, it’s very possible they’re loading up in Dark Lord and devoting their barrels to make sure they can meet demand.

After that, they can figure out what they want to release throughout the rest of the year.

FWIW, a lot of the variants in 2016 were sweet wine/dessert barrels. Dwarven Powerbottom FTW!

 

Let’s hope vintage in 2019. It’s riles people up more when they get castoffs.

There’s zero upside to announcing the beers now. The even is sold out, and people are getting a beer at random.

By releasing the info earlier, there are only downsides.
