I'm not going crazy since I brought way too much beer the last two years. I barely have a chance to open my bag before I get offered several pours.

Probably 2 or 3 bombers and a few smaller format bottles.

Yeah, i had someone offer me abraxas while apologizing it wasn’t barrel-aged. Lots of generosity!

I remember chugging rare barrel bombers with you in line since it was moving too fast.

Can someone please resurrect the picture of the passed out guy, outlined by dozens of empties?
I believe it was captioned with “bury me with my treasure.”

You should have seen the guy in the bear costume posing next to the empties guy. Epic!

Only bested by the meme of the guy in the bear costume with his helmet on in the morning, and then a few hours later sitting against the fence with his helmet off and head in his hands, absolutely hammered.

The caption was great too. Unfortunately, my description doesn't do the meme justice.

Given the discussions where half the people are saying their FVM17 was a drain pour, tastes like it is infected (pure speculation and heresay at this point), or that it just went bad with 6 months of age, I would have to question the ethics of trading out of it....

Yep, at DLD, I would have been ecstatic to get FVM. Now, i'm glad I got Chemtrail.

I haven't heard anything about infection. I have had it, and by no means did it taste infected. I've looked at lots of tasting notes/ratings on it, and it's just a hit or miss beer IMO.

That's the problem with trading "lesser" variants. It took a lot of money and effort to get it, so the trade price is high. However, a lot of people aren't going to jump at it because of it.

I traded Ronaldo and Muerte in deals I was happy with, you just have to find the right people. I would be interested in a 17 FVM for science, but given what I've heard, I'm not interested in giving up one of my prized bottles.

'17 FVM isn't infected, it just isn't that great compared to '16 FVM or Handjee or Chemtrail

I think people use "infected" in general when it doesn't taste like they expect. I do recall seeing a bunch of "green pepper" comments when it first came out.

I hadn't heard of the green pepper comments. When people throw around the term infection, it makes it a lot easier to understand why some breweries don't jump to fix things immediately when people start saying a beer is infected. It's not a term that should be used lightly.

Totally, and it happens all over Untappd. 17 Bourbon doesn't exactly have glowing reviews either (yeah, I know, Untappd Bros).

I've noticed that about BADL '17. I haven't had BADL '17, but that BADL '16.... damn. It was phenomenal.

The 17 varients in general got lower ratings than the 16 varients. I said it in a post earlier that this is most likely due to 16 base dark lord (the beer used to make 17 varients) was a subpar batch of dark lord.

Is there actual negative commentary regarding '17 BADL? Been sitting on one and hoping to open soon...

Gosh, I haven't heard any of that but this is somewhat typical of the beer scene. I wonder if the people writing those things have even tried the beer? I can only comment on the bottles I have tried, which have all been great. However, it is a different taste than FVM '16.
