The only entrance now was where the south gate was, which is now a giant corral (staging area). There's room for a ton of people and they have plenty of port-o-potties, a food stand, beer taps, and a guest services booth. Bags are checked prior to entering the corral so that once in the corral you're good. There was a separate group A line located in the far corner of the corral nearest the gate entrance. As @macewank said, you can now go in with a later group. You just can't go in with an earlier group.

My experience was similar. Not a ton of time in line outside, maybe 10-15 minutes? We had to stand near the front and polish off a Rare Dos before entering.

I think I'm going to shoot for 80-something ounces and pound one if they're being anal retentive.

 

This is another approach assuming they don't try to discourage loitering outside the fest.

 

does anyone know, do you actually have to activate your wristband? like, if you don't want to link up a CC or DC do you have to do anything at all?

 

It's not required to activate your wristband. DLD is cashless so you'll need to then use a CC/DC or Apple Pay per their FAQ

actually I'm still not certain that I'm certain. basically what I was wanting to know was: if I don't do a damn thing with my wristband except put it on the morning of DLD, will I get into the fest or no because I didn't "activate" it?

 

I don't think anyone here knows 100%, so I would send an e-mail to the address noted on the official DLD website.

 

Crap...I guess I owe everyone a beer.
