I just need to know who's bringing the '14 Prop and what I need to bring to get invited to that share. Love that '14 Prop.

I will second this! I need that beer in my life. Staying at the Hampton in Hammond.

First time attendee bringing some SoCal fun. Any advice for a first timer that is attending solo is welcome! Thinking about bringing:

FW Coconut Rye Parabola (hopefully snag some this weekend)
    BL Roll for Initiative
Highland Park BA Griffith J. Griffith
Modern Times League stuff (sours and IPAs probably)

I bring local stuff with name recognition, but not whale-ish. I bring Sante Adarius, Russian River, Cellarmaker, Moonraker (now), etc. Pliny is still popular.

I bring stuff I like to drink! I've seen people really struggle to pawn off their bottle, kinda funny sometimes.

I also don't sit down in a tent, I tend to roam, and do more line shares than tent shares. I've also popped into shares, struck up a little convo, and then pulled out a bottle, offered a pour and asked for a pour.

So many options, lots of fun!

All that stuff would be awesome - anything local, brewery only, from CA would be awesome as a lot of folks don't get the opportunity to try that stuff often.

    Advise:
    1. Find me... I need to try that Roll For Initiative.
    2. Drink lots of water before during and after. Pedialyte has always worked best for me.
    3. Eat plenty before and during the fest.
    4. Don't be afraid to politely pass on beer if you have had it many times before.
    5. Drink lots of water.

Speaking of water, my strategy has always been as follows:

After EVERY pour I rinse my glass with an equal amount of water and drink it. Every being the key word there. Never had a hydration problem at DLD. Also, insteadof ice packs in my backpack to keep beer cool I freeze water bottles, so as the day goes on they melt for more water.

I agree with drinking the rinse. I also do this at shares. Helps with hydration, pacing, and palate alertness.

Last year kids were basically foaming at the mouth for Strawberry Rhubarb. Great beer, but since we had 3 bottles, we also used it as a blending agent for "mediocre" stouts after out palates were blasted haha. Strawberry Parabola was pretty good.

Things get weird in that tent.

Coleman makes a great one that’s only $20 or so on amazon. You will be one of 1000 dudes wearing the same one though.

I know outside food is banned, but does anyone know if we can for sure bring in water? Historically, I’d take a few liter bottles of water in with me....

I would think it's fine, as others have mentioned, frozen bottles will be put to good use. And also my old lady has to have her sparkling cans of water to settle her stomach from time to time so she'll go nuclear if they try to fuck with that.

    DISCLAIMER: ACTUAL INFORMATION

Hasn't been a problem so far. Red Cross or Humane Society has also run the water bottle tent the last few years for donations. Throw 'em a couple bucks for a bottle. Dark Lord approved.
