Heard tell of one of you drunkard's who visited a local multi-tap watering hole and left your DL there, along with a bunch of other DL beers / swag. If this rings a bell, or revives a brain cell that was pronounced dead about 6:00 pm yesterday eve, then retrace your steps and get your stuff back, because said watering hole is still holding it.

If you're not the rightful owner, don't bother trying to score this - the tender knows what the dude looked like, and I've also not said anything about some identifiers that will further enable the bar to identify the rightful party.

I appreciate the angst over people stealing DL - but taking it in to an establishment and leaving it? Sad.

On a brighter note, Toppling Goliath King Sue is the shiznit.

Incredibly well-run event, FFF is learning every year and making huge improvements. Met a lot of great people in lines that were always willing to share-trade some of the best beers around.

Crowds / Organizational dexterity worthy of Fortune 500 Corp / Lake Michigan razor like wind cold wind, but with pure bright light sunshine / Metal sound track that made pure sense / And same craft beer community brotherhood that make Dark Lord Day one of the standout beer events of the year / Oh yeah and KILLER beers on tap, both from 3Fs and the guests....which were random surprises and very well paced. Very well done Three Floyds. (Just need some new kind of app to scrub the .01% d-bags that show up to anything)

1st DLD for me, great time. Found a great table that shared bruery Mon, tues, wed, and choc rain. F'n amazing. Got some new trading partners, going back to Texas with a good amount of beer. I'll definitely be trying to come back next year!

From what I can remember, this might have been the best day of my life (no kids or marriage, but still). While in line for group B, an incredibly nice, and drunk man shared some Rare BCBS and Vanilla BCBS. Also had countless great beer, I mean I checked untappd the next day and didn't even remember having a Huna. Helped that our parking spot was about 20 feet from the entrance, and yes I got a Vanilla DL. Absolutely perfect day.

Sounds very similar to my table at the south gate that early in the morning. We cooked breakfast, cracked 6 BA Dark Lords, DB Hunah, Prop, Backyard, 16, TG beers, and a bunch of other crazy shit.

Awesome day for me and my crew, drank from about 930am to 930pm(group b). Didn't hit the guest taps as hard as I should have because I got drunk. But did have sue, brandy sleep, some other dark lord both bribery collabs and one or two more I don't remember. Shared a bunch of kuhnhenn too. Props to the guys from Philly and Pittsburgh fri night who shared Huna surly and more.

Had a great time. Brandy and Vanilla on tap. Got a brandy bottle. Saw the coffee cluster line so went to the bottle sales with a hunch there would be something special there based on the cellar clearing sales they have had of late. Got a 11 and 13. Set up 8 trades, however only could finish 3 of them. The no bottles in after 5 threw me off a bit, especially since my car was a the Hampton Inn and I had E tix, luckily I had friends set up in the parking lot to watch my stuff.

"Set up 8 trades, however only could finish 3 of them."

Guilty as charged. I sent you two texts early Sat. morning before we headed out. After my buddy asked to buy the bottle off me I just gave it to him and wished him a happy anniversary. Later in the day I did speak to 2 guys in that same parking lot wearing the new orange FFF hats and introduced myself looking for Al hoping to crack something open to share with you. Sorry that fell through for both of us, but a decade long friendship trumps a beer trade.

As far as the event goes our group B allotment line was smooth sailing, no variants for us but no hassles either. We spent a lot of time in the guest tap lines which helped to pace the day and helped us keep it relatively together as night fell. I did see bunches of unattended bottles lying all over the grounds as the day wore on. Being a guy who recently moved out of Chicago for the burbs after 20+ years I've got two words for those folks; Situational Awareness. It sucks it's got to be like that but it is; be smart and watch your stuff or it could end up gone.

Lastly props to the guy who approached me literally seconds after I entered the grounds with a declaration of "empty glass!" and filled my mini snifter to the brim with this year's Darkness, it was a great way to kick off the party.

Had to be the same one. I was unprepared and only contributed a New American Oak Bois... I learned for next time... lol. Thanks for your hospitality, I really had an incredible time and hope we can do it again.

Drank some amazing beers with some amazing dudes. From the blauw, heart of darkness (highlight of the day), random drop of sam adams millenium, kbbs, vsb (thanks to wade for a bunch of this), to doming bvdl out of the bottle and a second one later... fucking nuts. Extremely well run even and cant wait until next year (lets hope its warmer out)

Paul George shirt was a buddy of mine. I was the guy in the Black Fleece with the blue Bears hat...mini mason jar attached to a lanyard. Was a busy table though....and yes that is our table. Glad you had a good time!!

Great event again this year, little crowded for the guest taps, so didn't get to try as many as I wanted. Did get to try both Floyd d'Rue and Rue d'Floyd, King Sue, Rueze, '14 Brandy DL and '11 Heaven Hill DL. Brought a lot of great beers to share, but somehow didn't meet up with the right people and came home with more than we wanted to.

Dark Matter line was stupid, at least I was able to get a mini-snifter online.

Hahaha, I definitely remember that lanyard. I added a photo to that last post- might look more familiar to you. Thanks again!

oh right on! I remember you guys! and don't feel badly about only bringing one bottle....the only thing required to join our group was a liver and an empty glass...you fit both of those requirements! Glad to have you there!

This was my first time experiencing the newly expanded layout of DLD, and what a great improvement over the old days.

Lines were manageable, people were friendly, didn't encounter any thievery and everything was quite organized.
The sharing of beer and yakking with other beer geeks is always my favorite part of the day...

    Well done, FFF!
