Now, I know this event is a little far from home for you guys way up in alaska, but I was wonder if anyone from the anchorage area was going to be attending the event. If so, I was hoping I might be able to workout a trade for some Midnight Sun Arctic Devil.

Hope this post is okay in the regional area.

    Thanks guys.

Arctic Devil was distributed down into OR, WA, and CA as well as AK. If you don't mind setting up a snail mail trade, you could probably trade a Dark Lord bottle-for-bottle with the AD in the lower 48. Just an option to think about if the in-person deal doesn't happen.

Thanks for the info there. I'm really looking to try and set up an in-person deal. There's gotta be someone from out that way making the treck to DLD. I'd love to be able to cut out the hassle of shipping super heavy glass containing adult product. And this also leads me to a bit of a clarifying point that I realized I probably should have added from the get-go. I'd like to trade Chicago/Midwest locals. Unless the Arctic Devil is extremely tough to get and a super limited release or something of the nature. I was reading up on barelywines the other day and this one came up with good remarks, so I figured a beer release such as Dark Lord Day would be the perfect oppertunity to catch other BA members coming in to my neck of the woods with foreign treasures.

Thanks to the couple of people that were right up on the ball with the replies. Being able to expand the search into some lower 48 states is always a big plus. Thanks again.

Well I think AD is a bit harder to fetch than Chicago / midwest locals.

I'm using "locals" as a more loose term. Not necessarily only encompassing easy to get, ots type stuff. I'm just mearly saying that I don't know if I want to obligate any of the limited bottles of DL (which I don't even have yet), to getting the Arctic Devil. There's plenty of other things out here that are plenty of things out here. I really have no idea what a bottle of Arctic Devil is "worth" in the first place. I just read some articles on it, searched the internet a bit and saw some places showing about $15 a bottle. That's really all I have to go off, a few reviews and a couple liquor store pages. Like I was saying, if its super limited, or a special release type brew or something of that nature, that's a bit different story. But I don't have, or know any of the info. That's why I'm looking here. And trying to ask around to people who have this product locally.

Arctic Devil sold out in Seattle within days of it hitting. It is a pretty small release outside of AK. I want to say we got something like 13 cases? I could be off on this bit it is for sure less than 30 cases. Can someone else chime in on this? Anyways, if you're headed to DLD I'd imagine you could do a trade for AD with things like BCBCS, Bramble, KH, BCBS, BA HiFi, etc. good luck!

Don't know the case numbers myself but I don't think Portland did much better for bottles. I doubt there was more distributed out here than there was King Henry in the Mid-West. I'd agree that an AD for a KH would be a pretty even trade. Similar price, similar ABV, similar 'limited' nature, and the same bottle size is how I make this 'value' correlation. Hope the King Henry metric gives you a better guideline OP.

Thanks for the info guys. That definitely helps put the AD into perspective for me. Its always so hard to judge a "street value" on something that has a clear shelf price. Especially when its a product you're not super familiar with. I'm talking with a fellow BA member who happens to be pretty local to me that's heading up to alaska before DLD. And if this Arctic Devil turns out to be something super elusive, I'll have to take it from there.

Any other good Alaska locals (or regoinal choices) anyone know of? Its not an everyday chance to aquire bottles for that side of the country.

I'm almost positive I'm going to DLD. May have a ticket (fingers crossed), but will probably fly down to meet with some good friends for the party. I'm going down to anchorage the second week of April. Hopefully they still have some AD left. We didn't get any in Fairbanks. So, I'll keep in touch with you.

Thanks davey. Never hurts to have a back up plan. Good luck with DLD. 3Floyds is kick ass. Never been to DLD, but I hear its awesome. As long as you're prepared to deal with the chaotic throng of people in a TINY place. Theyre working on some remodeling right now. I wanna try and make it over to the brewery and check it out before next month.

Keep me posted on the AD. Thanks again.

Its a pretty wild time. Went with my girlfriend last year. Don't think she was too impressed.

Oh man... That's exactly the quandry that I'm in right now. "But babe... You get to sit around with a bunch of random strangers and taste crazy beers and talk about beer and buy beer and look at beer."

We were in line the entire day to get inside of the brewpub. She couldn't wrap her brain around why it was so importand to try the DL variants. I think her exact words were, "theres beer everywhere, and you have to try those three, your so dumb." Good luck to ya!

I'm pretty sure that phrase will be pointed at me more than once throughout the day. Thanks man. I'm looking forward to it.

Click (Midnight Sun's Washington Distributor) received 74 cases. Colombia down in Oregon received almost double that, hence most of the shops down there having no bottle limits on the stuff.
