How many Don Q's do you think I should bring for beer pong? I was thinking 3 should be enough

Damn, some of you are bringing some serious heavy weights. I was going to bring some 'lighter'/PA/IPA/DIPA stuff just because I feel they will be plenty of heavy hitting stouts at DLD on draft.

I'm going to be going to Tree House Brewing for most of the week before DLD so I'll probably just grab a bunch of their stuff and bring it to DLD.

Only thing I know for sure is West Ashley, ANTEAD, and a vintage BCS variant.

I'm also going to grab a few Chicago shelfies like Pipeworks and Surley to just give away and offer to out of
    towners.

If anyone is looking for a group to join, you're welcome to join ours. We're gonna have 6 or 7 dudes and will always welcome more.

I want to stand next to him in line.

My incomplete list of what is coming up with me:
Bruery: Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, Upland: Malifactor and Vinosynth red, Avery sours, Lots of lesser known barrel aged stuff from Indiana. I should have some other fun stuff on its way here.

God knows what I will actually walk in with.

I have been known to go through the entrance line two or three times for fun and have to make a trip back to the car.

Man, you all are putting me to shame - my plan was not to bring tons of whales since so many of them will likely be on at the guest taps, but to focus more on cool local stuff that out-of-towners otherwise would probably never get to try. I guess I'll rethink my list a bit...

I was told not to tell you guys this story but I'm going to tell you anyway. This morning I was at a restaurant known for their.....bakery items. It is very close to the HQ of a.....big corporation that might make alcoholic beverages. A few dudes who clearly work there (they were wearing...Lite beer schwag) were at a table and they were getting up to leave and one of them says "What's that thing we're doing in a couple of weeks....Dark Horse? Dark Horse? Dark Horse?" one of the other guys says "Dark Lord Day".

    "Yeah, what is that?"

"Its a big beer event. It'll be fun."

So have fun trying to spot the suits.

Honestly, there's no reason not to bring "cool local stuff." While I agree that DLD is a great day to share your whales, everyone else is sharing them too. Everyone gets bent out of shape about which whales to bring/try/hunt down on tap, but as many have mentioned in this thread (and others), some of the best beers are the ones you aren't expecting. Besides, it gets boring drinking nothing but BA stouts all day!

If you're worried/feeling inadequate, bring a whale or two, and some cool local stuff.

Coming from NY and mostly bringing sours to give everyone a nice break from the higher ABV stouts. So far I have:
    • Westbrook Bourbon Barrel-Aged Oud Bruin
    • Grimm Releases from 2016 (Have you guys heard of them? People are running around the city now chasing it as I post this) - Subliminal Message, Vacay, Psychokinesis, Afterimage (IPA), Tesseract (IPA)
    • Plan Bee Brewing bottles
    • KBS '16 and Weyerbacher Sunday Morning Stout '16
    • BCBS Coffee '15 we can break open together to see if it's infected lol
    • Captain Lawrence Barrel Select Gold
    Requests?

Also looking for ideas to keep my bottles cold in the shuttle down since my hotel probably won't have a freezer in the room to freeze my water bottles.

Wow, some of you have extensive lists that you're all bringing. I brought too much last year, so I will be significantly reducing what I bring.

    So far...
    -New Glarus Oud Bruin
    -Central Waters 18
    -Funk Factory Geuzeria Door Kriek

But I'll also be there giving out hourly weather forecasts to passersby. That has value on its own.
