Dark Lord Day 2016

I think I have my list of things to bring more or less figured out. Again, I obviously wont be carrying all of this in the door... but this is most of what will make it to the hotel on Friday night: Bruery: Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, Upland: Malifactor and Vinosynth red, Crown BA Poobah (coffee saved for the line on Saturday). Sidamo. Avery sours, Peoples BA beers. OEC sours. Sea Hag, SOS, Overlord, Rip Chord. I'll avoid the big bottle shares on Friday night.

 

Since we're planning on focusing on taps I'm bringing a lighter load (mostly cans, but also lighter bodied beers) and won't be elbowing into too many shares unless I just can't resist, or the company is too cool (which it always seems to be).

To be fair, the weather last year was a high of 46 and a low of 39. By contrast, with a ways to go and the potential for changing conditions this early in the week, the current forecast of 57/44 is not "too" bad by contrast.

 

Accuweather has dropped it from 60-something% to a change of rain at 35%

 

The weather forecast is complete bullshlt until about 2-3 days prior. Stop looking at it.

Usually. Of course there will be so many people that if you roll in with bottles you'll be welcomed.

 

It's fine for you to sneak in, but standard "woo girl" rules apply. Failure to observe them will likely result in being removed from the lobby.

I think I've narrowed my beer choices down to ringing five.

Vintage Dark Lord (2012), Kane 1460, Tree House Double Shot, Jester King Black Metal, and more than likely a Cantillon Gueuze.

If anyone wants to meet up I'm happy to share some sweet, sweet beers. I'm in group A and taking an 8 am shuttle out of Jaks in Chicago. Hell, if you're on the same shuttle, let's hang.

Lacking a secret call...I'll be the dude with a tan backpack cooler that has a Michigan State Spartan logo on it. My buddy and I will have plenty of stuff to share (Trillium IPA's, BCBS, PW The Hyper Dog, Upland Malefactor, KBS, Regal Rye and others).
