My first DLD was 2010. The event was sharing bottles while waiting 4-5 hours in one massive line. Comparing then to now, fff has done a helluva job improving their event.

Giant plus about this year – I heard a ton of 90s hip hop in the north tent throughout the afternoon. Was definitely getting a kick out of some of the songs that were being played.

Imo better weather would have made the food lines worse albeit more tolerable certainly. I think with a few tweaks DLD can be even better next year. Even still overall I think they did a nice job this year. If they can keep attendance about the same this would be good & guaranteed variants were cool so hopefully they can keep that aspect going. I liked the Variant station approach they had in the warehouse too. I'm still floored how efficient the DL bottle line was. Absolutely floored. This to me was this year's DLD headline. Kudos to them on this & let's hope it's just as efficient in future years.

Had a great time overall despite being cold and wet. Got there around 8am, awesome shares in line... Group A - was a little messy and long entering the north gate when 10:30 rolled around but no big D. Bottle line was fast as hell- got a marshmallow handjee and my buddy got the French vanilla militia. Guest tap line moved pretty well a we got to try some great taps - the handjee on tap was delicious. Some nice 2013 DL on tap among others but no other DL variants tapped for us. Food line was probably the worst offender but it wasn't TOO bad. I didn't get that hot sauce but ended up with a set of the gold snifters, a coffee mug and two bottles of that Black Hole Necromancer - one of which I'm enjoying while typing this. A lot less bitter and sour than people said the last year was. Overall well run event, had an awesome time, met cool people, got real drink and tried awesome beers. Will be back next year.

First time at DLD and it was a great time. Entered south gate at 10 and was in the fest within an hr. Shared and met some great people in line. Had some decent brews on tap and in shares at the north tent, all while listening to 80s hip hop...was awesome. Was group D and was in and out early and in less than 10 min. Dropped stuff off at the car got back in with ease. No problem with food line or potty line...waited until later for food, which helped. Paced myself, met some wonderful people and was prepared for the weather..
Shout out to Frogg Toggs for keeping me dry all day. I'd go back to DLD anytime

Long shot, but I will try - Lost wallet yesterday. Credit/debit cards all cancelled and no damage, thankfully. Had $280 in cash. First name David. PM me if you found it. Reward if all intact.
Also lost an Igloo backpack (one strap torn) with a 16 Huna, a Brother Sionge, a Beat and more. My own damn fault - shouldn't have stayed past 6:00 Too damn old!

First time at DLD! Loved everything about it. Bottle shares with awesome people in line before entering was probably the best. Moloko with chili's was super good! My phone had died while walking outside for an uber pickup. So sorry to the uber driver who probably sat and waited! Also thanks to the taxi service out front who got me back to my hotel!

It was my first time and had an awesome experience. Except for my first beer. I was at the North end at the taps by the Dark Lord truck. Waited for ever in line to order my first ever Dark Lord. An old man then says he's old and is not walking to the other end unless I give him money. I had just driven from Cleveland and whipped out a 5. He walks down and then does not grab a Dark Lord! When he returned, I questioned about it being DL and all he said was I get whatever he decides. I just walked away. Went to another tent and the guy their was super nice and gave me 2 Dark Lords. I get dealing with drunks all day can suck. But I was polite and sober. Didn't deserve that guy being a dick.

food trucks/beer tents were crazy this year!! also i feel like last year the beer tents had more options at each tent.. maybe thats just me. the voucher system was annoying, for me to use them all i would of had to either use them all at once or wait in lines for a total of 6 hours. HUGE improvement was the DL line, last year i waited forever to get my bottles and this year it seemed like i was in and out in about 20 minutes if that. no rain would of been great but not much you can do about it. CANT WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR!!

Maybe if they had more than 2 people checking bags at the gate, the entry line would move a little bit faster.

My first time to Dark Lord yesterday, fortunately a ticket became available through a friend, the $160 I paid for it was worth it, even though I agreed to give up my variant. Glad I was able to try a couple of the variants on tap (Dwarven, & French Vanilla I think). Met some cool people, tried some awesome stuff on tap, many people were randomly pouring me stuff, no complaints. Had 2 tickets leftover, the rain was mostly the reason I didn't use them all. The food lines were long, but the slowness didn't really bother me with everyone pouring stuff around me.

Next year I'll make sure to dress for the weather and drink the water I brought. Everything was great until I was a wet/cold mess, emphasis on mess lol.

Those wooden boards they put down on the way to the restrooms and crossing to and from places were death traps, saw a number of people fall.

Does anyone know the guy who was selling the whale slayer bottle openers on the A line side? I'm interested in acquiring one..

Overall, I thought the day was great. Had some friends that were going through the north gate clusterfuck when we got there, so we decided to try the south gate. Got in in about 15 minutes. Our friends waited in line about 2 and a half hours at the north gate. Ended up getting there more than 2 hours after them and got in at the same time.

Taps were a little lackluster for me, the food lines were a little long, and some douches tried to steal my buddy's tote from us while we were standing there right by the guest taps, but other than that I have no complaints. Ended up with a Temeculan 3000 in group D.

I'm surprised there wasn't more hype around this variant. Cinnamon and aged in essentially a variation of cognac barrels. Can't wait to crack mine open.

Took the Jak's tap bus back and passed around some Vignerrone with some dudes we met on the bus taking swigs from the bottle. Perfect way to end DLD. Until next year.

    Cheers!

Couldn't agree more. I'm surprised it lasted to Group D (and possibly E?).

Had they called it 'Cognac Barrel Aged Dark Lord with Cinnamon and Ancient Spices' it would be a total rar whalez. The combo of the name and people not knowing the barrel, etc. definitely contributed to no one really being very excited over it, but I think this is the sneaky dark horse variant that will be/is really good.

I'm seeing a lot of people getting there allotment stolen or atleast someone attempting it. Are the really that many douche bags attending this event? I hope if caught theses people are called out and turned into proper authorities.

Yup, that is the bottle I got in Group E.

Vanilla Bean, French Vanilla, Ronaldo, BBA, and 16 Muerte were out, but I think everything else was available.

I just tucked my arm in my poncho and pissed in a cup incognito while in line. Best move of the weekend
