Thanks for doing God's work, man. I've been checking FFF but hadn't in the last couple hours.


I really needed to spend $30 on a bottle opener, so this is perfect.

 

The rain is great because it forces one to wear a rain suit which is quite useful for the Dark Lord infected zombies sloshing beer all over you.

 

Well said, trogged through the North gate line with the rest of Group A. Almost 2.5 hrs to get in, but then 10 min. later we all had our allotment with 2 handjee, 1 militia, and 1 Ronaldo.

Shared lots of good beers waiting in the line and all 4 of my group used all of our vouchers, within 2 hrs. of trying. Got some merch as well.

Rain has sucked the last 2 years, but the beer is always worth it.

 

No this year was worse than last, by far. Last year temperature was similar, but the rain slowed, and even stopped towards the mid and end of the day. This year the rain never let up, and actually got worse.

Lines were also shorter last year for taps and food, by far, and taps were way effing better and the good stuff was more abundant.

The only thing that was worse last year was the bottle line that took forever--maybe that was a good thing at the beginning of the day to help make bottle sharing more fun, but when you're group E and you have 2 hours of queuing after that long a day, it's tough. Also, randomized golden ticket, no guaranteed variant, of course.

 

For all the cold/rain issues, I mean, that's Indiana in April. I lived there for 5 years. Push it back til May. Of course you still might get rain but it will warm up considerable.

 

Yeah, I was talking about that (moving to May) while being soaked on DLD. I'm wondering if Munster doesn't want it any other time during the year, because April is a pretty shitty month.

 

Looks like single-axe openers are out of stock, page says more after May 10th. Still have dual-axe available.

 

Did you get free beer? Did you pay to get into the festival?

 

This year was worse. Last year it was a monsoon at times, but there were also hour long pockets of no rain.

This year was just steady bullshit.

 

Anyone remember what time BA Abraxas was on?

I picked up the battle axe style opener at DLD. I've used it several times and it hasn't bent a cap yet.

 

Yeah, for a while there I was thinking last year was worse. Then I remembered how ill prepared I was last year and how well I was prepared this year. Either way this year was better for me as I stayed dry the entire time.

 

I'm all but positive it was regular Abraxas.

 

The 1 and 2 sided axe bottle openers are available on the site again. Just ordered one.

Hell yea bitches! One-Onesider ordered. Not sure how I missed these at DLD... Oh yea, I was hammered. LOL.

 

I think the 2nd weekend in May would be perfect (avoid Cinco and Derby weekend) though I don't know if running into college graduation season is a concern or not. But you would get better weather on average, no question.

BTW, Dark Lord pulled off tap at the brewery today. I guess they didn't want to go into a 2nd weekend with it. Good to see though that people shut out of tix get a 5 day window where they can at least get it on tap.

 

I'd like to know the % of vouchers unused. The brewery would certainly know this information. I'd guess at least 25% went unused.
