Dark Lord Day 2016

Wouldn't be too surprising. I stayed there this year and I had to book the hotel exactly one day after DLD 2015. That hotel fills up real fast.

 

That's how I got the my room there this year as well. Had it booked for a year.

I wonder though if they just aren't showing available because of that paper we signed that put us on the priority list for next year if we get Dark Lord tickets.

 

That's actually a good question. I completely I forgot that I signed on to that priority list as well until you just mentioned it.

 

The hotel will not be sale online until they call everyone who signed up for the list. If there's any rooms after that they'll go on sale.

 

They told me that paper was actually for the new Homewood Suites that they just built behind the Hampton, apparently it's supposed to open sometime in the next month or so

That sucks. On the other hand, that'd most likely be my bottle, given my luck, so it's probably the one positive I can take from missing out on it.

Gotta feel for a guy who turned down $500, only to have the damn thing blow up on him.

It was (briefly) on sale from DM's website after DLD. Looks like they held some beans back and roasted a second batch, because the bag I got had a roast date of May 6.

Verdict: It's best used as cold-brew or espresso. It's only OK as French press or pour over.

I seem to remember last year when I booked at the Hampton that I did it around the end of May.

 

I think if I were the scalper, I'd turn a little Francis Begbie.

 

I looked there and missed buying it by about 2 hours. I will keep looking though. Last year they had Dark Blood well into June.

 

I plan on drinking my VBDL in August while I'm on vacation in NC. Please don't explode!!!
