    I'm thinking they are going the Dash Board Confessional route this year. Maybe Bell and Sebastian route if we're lucky

    I'm feeling this graphic... I tend to stay away from DLD merch, but would buy a shirt with this graphic on it without a doubt. 4/30 can't come soon enough!

    Since this is now also going to also be the 20 yr anniversary I think the possibility of getting a darklord aged in 20yr pvw barrels is extremely high.....

    Has anyone started any wild speculation (without any basis in evidence or fact) about whether or not we'll see the first FFF whiskeys at DLD 2016? If not, can we start that wild, unsubstantiated speculation now?

    Not happening, was there today and it doesn't seem like distilling of anything has started yet. There was something going on on the bottling line that they didn't want anyone to see though.

    Was in on Monday. Spoke to someone who said Gin will be the first thing coming out of th distillery due to the fact it's quicker to make. They have the equipment but haven't started distilling anything yet

    side project origin:

    barrel #1 release 1 was a sixtel and 186 bottles. so there definitely is more bottles out of one barrel than youd think

    What is "double barrel" exactly? Aging in one, and then transfer to another for aging?

    I believe it's use of 2 types of barrels then blended. Example: half in bourbon barrels, other half in rum barrels, then blended together.

    Per my hungover, quick math; a 53 gallon barrel would equate to 267.5 (750ml) bottles, which means an end product of 165 bottles would be a whopping 38% loss from all of that. That seems a bit high in my opinion, but I am certainly not a brewer. Perhaps, FFF kept some bottles that were not labeled out of the 160 (for cherry) or 165 (for muerte).

    I might be wrong, but I believe DL and variants are in 22oz format. About 3oz short of 750ml...which would make the loss even greater.

    DL = 22 oz; BA DLs = 750 ml

    To move onto new speculation FFF has mentioned on twitter total bottles received = 5

    But also some newb questions for a first timer. How does bottle sharing work before the festival? Do we bring our own glassware and risk it breaking later on in the day or are plastic cups frowned upon?

    With everyone lining up to go in, do you just share with people standing around you? Or is it just one large mob by the time the doors open?

    If all goes right I plan on bringing some Grimm, Maine beer co IPAs, and others

    Plastic cups aren't frowned...at least in the 7 other years we've been. We always have a big sleeve or two for people who come up and want to share, for water, etc.
