Dark Lord Day 2016

I don't really care. However, I'd prefer less rain than last year's DLD. It was fun but would have been even more fun without the rain, lake sized puddles and mud pits. I mean, given the choice..

 

I hope it rains fire then it will be a legit DLD

 

I was about to say, I don't know what kind of "sun" burn mnbearsfan is speaking of. Maybe he meant hellfire burn...?

 

FYI - for those staying at the Hampton Inn, they are making calls letting you know that they are charging the full amount of the stay on 4/15. It seems like they're trying to button down the reservations and they gal I spoke with said that they've got a wait list of about 200 names.

 

As an aside, currently in Chicago. Rain snow at 39 degrees is unfortunately very possible

 

Anybody else thinking, feeling, hoping for in person sales this weekend?

 

I fully plan on the weather being totally shitty... and prefer it!

Last year my buddy and I came totally prepped, decked out in our water & wind proof heavy duty hiking gear. I felt right at home! It was really easy to get to guest taps (most folks were huddled under tents) and I had no problems staying dry and warm.

Here's to hoping for another windy, rainy, cold DLD!

 

But to be fair, that might have been the only port-a-potty that was accessible to the masses. There were a lot of johnnies that you couldn't get to unless you were wearing hip boots.

And I'm not kidding.

 

Last year we were standing with a guy from Arizona. Before we even got through the initial bottle share to enter the event, he fell face first into a puddle and got his foot stuck under one of the metal barriers. He was water drunk.

 

It's on the FAQ (or maybe their FB page). No bottles sales at DLD outside of what's included with the ticket.

 

Easy Rainman, he was asking about in person ticket sales at the brewpub maybe possibly occuring this weekend.

I'm guessing it won't happen on Easter Sunday. Probably the weekend after...or the weekend after. Just set an alarm for Sundays at 530am and turn your phone brightness down before bed. Good luck.

Best bet would be to set your settings on the Twitter app to send you a text message whenever they tweet. They tweet about once a day, so it's mildly annoying, but when you get 5am text, you can hit the road immediately.

I'd bet on or around the 2nd weekend of April as that's when the tickets will most likely be printed and ready. They could also release on a weekday.

 

Wouldn't we want to assume *before* the tickets are printed? They print with our names on em, so ...

 

I'm hoping for an excuse to have to get to Cabella's again. That store is awesome and I need some more rain gear.

If those f'ers are there again trying to steal beer, no that I have a particular set of skills... I will find you, and I will kill you.

 

They'll probably order a bunch of blank ones and sharpie names on them. I'm only speculating so you may be on to something if they want to have them printed with names.
