I heard they are bringing back Brandy Barrel Vanilla Bean Dark Lord (aka same as 2011)

Maybe Handjee as well, not sure.

 

Let's be honest, shouldn't every variant just be vanilla aged in some barrel? Vanilla tequila, vanilla scotch, vanilla moscatel....Vanilla fixes a lot of problems...

 

There must be some kind of vanilla dependency that we haven't medically researched enough yet.

Shit I used to hate vanilla, like "wtf is wrong with ya'll chocolate is where it's at!" But now I've been converted "put vanilla in my green beans already ffs!!" and I don't know why. I don't even know if I actually like vanilla. I just need it in my beer like I need oxygen in my lungs.

This is almost as bad as those guys asking for the return of moscatel barrels chanting "Make Dark Lord Grape Again".

 

Where’s the guy who made the dark lord news videos a few years back?

 

I think he perished while on site filming when the brewery burned down.

The hot button topic for this year's DLD will be the fact that non-barrel aged variants will be part of the equation. I don't think they'll have just barrel-aged variants this year, based strictly on the description on their website:

"Ticket holders will be handed a prepacked tote bag that includes 4 bottles of 2019 Dark Lord Russian-Style Imperial Stout and 1 bottle of rare Dark Lord Variant at random. Total quantities of each variant will be divided evenly among assigned groups."

... says nothing about it being barrel aged. That topic ought to add at least 50-60 pages to this thread once variant list is released.

 

This obviously means the Dark Lord will go blonde...

Since DL tastes like soy sauce, does that mean Blonde stout DL would taste like...Italian dressing?

 

Has the language specified barrel aged in the past for variants?
