Dark Lord Day (2021)

1- Agreed to proxy for a friend based on ease of pick-up last year.
2- These car lines are damn long to pick-up this year. Why do they only have two rows when they have space for 4? And why is the left lane so slow? The car right in front of me took the right lane and pulled out like 6 cars ahead of me while I sat in the left lane.
3- Based on my friend's pull I can say I'm impressed for noobies or chasers, but not impressed as a veteran DL'er. The only beer I would have wanted would have been '21 Adult Size Beverage and he pulled Chem and Vanilla (sad that someone can be bummed by that pull, but I've pulled those plenty before and prefer new stuff...luckily not my allotment or perhaps I would have tried a parking lot trade). 2020 pull was Hellaboozie an Keyrock, again, if I were pulling Lounge Against, Rarri or Loadstar would have been interesting, Hella and Keyrock were pretty common pulls last year so disappointing they are clearing out the leftovers.
4- I'm happy for FFF, but would have been cool to have some variants to be excited about for people who have had Chem and Vanilla the past 5+ and 8+ years.
5- The blue wax color is awesome if I have to give a rose.

 

Two 2021 bags, both identical. Chemtrail and ASB. I’d like my tip back please. They knew what they were doing.

UPDATE: I went back through the line to ask if I could swap one out, and they said they are out of Handjee. Wow, guess I should have gotten Saturday pickup.

yesterday, they did have 4 lines going but everyone decided to ignore the right two lines so moving to that side had to have saved me like 12 minutes of waiting in line..

as far as the 21 variants, i find it shocking that floyds is (for the most part) “giving the people what they want.” i feel like it ensured that the ‘21 packages would sell out. it also helps that’s it’s a 1:1 ratio now of BA variant to reg.

 

I do get what you are saying but at the same time I am ecstatic with my HJ and CTM bag.

I still think they course corrected a little too far going to just 3 variants, but there were a lot of positives this year.

If it stays at 2 and 2, and they up the variants to like 5-6, I think that would be perfect.

 

Doubt it, but hopefully they are sitting on a ton of 2021 Handjee and Chem for resale next year and will not make those two in 2022.

 

Proxied for a few people and picked up 6 packs. Not a single Handjee in the bunch… oh well

I saw a mention on Facebook that they ran completely out of Handjee earlier this afternoon so if you waited too long to pickup, you were SOL there.

 

I took pics of all bottles so they don’t think I took anything for myself.

 

1) Anyone try the ASB yet?
2) Anyone post a picture of the label?
3)Anyone pull any vintage stuff since noon other than Rod, Sword, Hella or Keyrock?

 

Had the ASB last night. I enjoyed it but like the Untappd reviews said. If you like the wine barrel aged stuff you’ll enjoy it. It was very sweet, couldn’t find the rum barrel at all.

If they are going to tell people that they "ran out" today, they had better not be sitting on any 2021 Handjee. It's already pretty bad that they couldn't manage to distribute their variants better to make sure everyone got equal chances. If they're intentionally sitting on it and depriving the people who have already paid, that's just criminal.

 

You were guaranteed 2 out of 3 bottles. If they had no vanilla for anyone they still would have fulfilled their obligation. Goose “runs out” of their rare variants hundreds of times a year, but somehow years later they still pull them out their ass. They could easily have run out of allocated variants for the fest, but not total supply. They also could have a warehouse full of them and just not brought them out new ones while people were there. What are they going to say “you want vanilla? Okay, please stay in your car and back up traffic back to I-94 while we take 30 minutes to put them on a truck and drive them over and then put them into bags so we can fulfill your order.” We are out seems like the best excuse to keep the line moving and if not, “whoops, we found the other pallet and meant we were out of ones on the truck when you pulled up.”

 

Fulfilling your obligations to your customers and "good customer service" are not the same thing.

They *said* they ran out of vanilla shortly after noon today, which means they didn't allocate enough vanilla for Sunday pickups. I don't know how it happened, I just know that it shouldn't happen.

 

Anyone know where the mixup in ABV is coming from on Crushing Mass? Untappd changed to 11.7%. Beer Temple got a keg and their board lists at 11.7% The bottles are 15.1%

 

What people should really be pissed about is that the bottles are numbered and all 3 variants are xyz/3,000. So exact same bottle counts which means they were allowing swaps or some other shenanigans ….

 

no idea there as bottles and Floyds’ social media both said 15.1%. what i do know: that beer is the truth. absolutely love it.

 

You're not lying. I grabbed a case for me and some friends from the pub.. killed my two packs quick. It just hit distro in the Louisvillr area and I got my hands on two more


Upon further research, I see where when they applied for the label, it was originally 11.7% so maybe that info is getting confused out in the world
