I know we're not supposed to take coolers into the actual event, but can we still have coolers outside? Should I just plan on taking a styrofoam cooler and leaving it behind? Or is there anything else you guys plan on taking? Insulated backpacks? Garbage bags with ice? Cold packs? Let me know what you guys came up with.

I have a cooler that goes over the shoulder that can handle 10 bombers or 2 growlers and some bombers. The good thing about having as many surgeries that I have had, lots of cold packs.

Don't leave anything behind. I don't think FFF would appreciate 72 styrofoam coolers in the streets

Coolers will be fine outside, but assume anything with wheels, or or can't be held with one hand/over shoulder will be denied at the gate. Personally, I'll be using a big messenger bag.

I'm doing a backpack as well. I need something to haul the bottle allotment and other goodies back in anyway, since I'm relying on mass transportation.

I'm just going to freeze my beers the night before, then throw them in my backpack in the A.M.

Waterproof Duffle bag/book bag with a few plastic bags full of ice inside. May also wear a camelback full of water.

posted this in another thread but...I know no real coolers are allowed, only backpacks. But what about a soft sided cooler with a shoulder strap that looks kind of like a square (ish) duffle bag?

I've been using this backpack for years. It can hold a growler and two bombers, or 5-6 bombers. It was allowed into DLD 2011 and XV Anny.

That would seem to be over the top if they did that. I could see them denying a square looking cooler that looks like something you could turn into a seat... but happens to have a strap.

I am bringing a shoulder one that is soft on all sides so it's basically an insulated messenger bag. My buddy I'll be there with will likely have a regular backpack carrying the beers for trade that don't need to be cool.

EDIT: Frozen water bottles as the way to keep it cool. When they thaw, I'll just start drinking that ice cold water!!

there's always that chance that they could. but, if it's got a strap, i'm hoping they'll be cool and make you 'wear it'. i'm bringing a messenger bag, heavy duty and dropping some ice packs in there. probably bringing 3 or 4 bombers. water, snacks.

Thought this was a "something cooler to do on DLD" thread? You know since nobody that tried got tickets!
