Dark Lord Day (DLD) 2015

I foresee some double-dipping being, at least, attempted...

 

Cool news that I can at least hound these guys tonight as opposed to waiting until Monday if my tickets aren't waiting for me when I get home.

 

Am away in Florida till the 24th and didn't get my tickets in the mail or notification they are held before leaving. Tight.

 

The first part of the email:

"It has come to our attention that an incorrect envelope was used to mail Dark Lord Day tickets by The United States Postal Service(USPS) first class, regular mail. Because the envelope is not completely flat, the USPS' machinery had trouble processing it which caused these mailings to be manually sorted/categorized as "irregular envelopes" with "postage due" upon arrival to your area.
In a majority of cases, the USPS made the deliveries but we are seeing that there are some issues and wanted to inform you.
We apologize, as the commercial printing vendor who was hired by ETIX to print, fulfill and deliver DLD tickets had a quality control malfunction that caused this to happen. "

I love how they mention that it was their printing vendor who screwed up. If you hired someone and they screw up it's still your fault. I deal with that plenty at work and if one of my subs screws up I don't try and shift blame off on them.

 

Pair of Group C tickets arrived today here in MN with no postage due.

 

I got the envelope today for my dark lord tickets... Just the envelope.

Looks like the envelope was never sealed and there were no tickets in there.

Quick call to etix resolved the situation. My original tickets (with my name on them) were deactivated. I have to go to will call with a couple pieces of info.

While it's a bit of a hassle, it was easily taken care of and the gal on the phone was super nice.

 

Looks like concerns over ticket delivery were not so paranoid after all....

 

Cute how they threw their "commercial printing vendor" under the bus.

 

Well they did fuck up, so. Calla spade a spade. I get it, be professional, but what they wrote didn't seem to "under the bus" to me, just explaining what happened.

 

Not like they named the third party or anything. They said what happened.

 

mine came so that's one issue taken care of. Now it's all about if they are making ba tomato can dl......

I usually bring Three Floyd's growlers full of change. Yeah it bogs down the lines a bit and people behind sometimes get pissed off but they're branded growlers man, gotta use them for something.

 

Branded growlers they wont even fill up at the brewpub. Shittiest growler system I've ever heard of.

 

They don't fill growlers? WTF?!

 

Tickets arrived safe and sound today, Hail Satan.

 

Forecast right now calling for high of like 57 and 60% chance of rain. Ugh. Here's to hoping that changes being so far out.

 

Forecasts only change 100% of the time 8 days out. Going to buy one of those umbrella hats right now.
