I also witnessed this, but I walked by when the guy was already in the mud. I wondered what started it.

Bottle share in the line for Dark Lord was my downfall. While the light was on, nobody was home after that. So, many good beers. I really need to pull back on the bottle share drinking in the Dark Lord line but no regrets.

... and to answer the eternal question, "who has the knife..."

Girl dropped it right by us. I'm all "Miss, you dropped something..." She keeps walking. 10 seconds later, mud fight erupts, security steps in. We decide to keep the line moving instead of watching the poop fly.

Speaking of how relatively quickly (or slowly) the group lines for bottle purchases moved, I'm reading here how fast the Group A line moved. I'm not sure people are appreciating the fact that the line to get into the event at the North Gate (which was the designated gate for Group A), absolutely crawled . I got in line at 10:15 a.m., and finally cleared the bag check and the ticket takers at 12:15. To be sure, at that point, the Group A bottle sales line was only about 10 minutes. But it took what seemed to be forever just to enter the grounds.

Just outside the grounds about 2 p.m.
Went to check on him and as soon we. Got within 10' he popped right over, said he was ok. The only one I saw that far gone all day.[IMG]

Anyone else in group e see the super drunk guy in an all yellow rain suit drop his 4 pack of DL? Somehow after he dropped them and tried to drunkenly pick them up, his pants fell down. So he's trying to regain equilibrium in just his boxers and pants around his ankles and he dropped his holder again breaking the 1 or 2 bottles that survived the first drop. Someone helped him pull his pants up and he waddled away holding onto the fence all the way holding his empty 4 pack holder. It was such a trainwreck I couldn't look away

Yeah the car stuff is not cool, sorry to hear. We were in the charity lot by the north gate; when we left at ~4:30, there was a utility style van parked next to us with two guys sitting in the front chilling (they were not the car that was originally parked there) and they were parked incredibly close to our passenger side. I said to my buddy, be careful opening the door since this guy parked so close, and then I observed him squeeze in gently and without touching the other car. Immediately the driver gets out blowing a gasket that we dinged his car. Then his buddy gets out to assist. I think they were trying to pull a scam on people...after numerous F you's from me to them and vice versa, my wife made me get in the car and we left. All this said, great day, this was my 8th DLD, but the experience is always taken down a notch because of people doing sh** like this.

The near knife fight story is outrageous. Dude should've been taken to jail...

I was in group A and we snagged 3 btls of Vanilla out of the 4 of us. Rest of our group (8 more people), was in C and they scored another ~4 or so Vanillas around 4pm.

Some guy tried to fight me because he asked for some beer. I asked for his glass more then willing to give him some. He told me he wanted to drink it out of the bottle. I politely declined his backwash in my beer. Apparently I offended him and he pushed me if I wanted my ass kicked. I also politely declined that offer not wanting to get kicked out of line after 2 hours. Apprently I was not the only one he was being an asshole because security kicked him out of line when he got to the front telling him that if he tried that shit again he was going to jail. Other then that a really good fest overall.

My first Dark Lord (Bba) on top of my first Pizza Port. Drank half the D.L. and it fell from my cold hands. It was so sweet though I couldn't drink any more of it anyway. It was not the best beer ever, but mission accomplished.

That is really cool of them to do, but it is also bullshit for them to do at the same time. It is not their problem some choad pulled a knife on a guy, and the cry baby that got it pulled on him felt he had to go crying to Three Floyds about it. Suck it up butter cup, and deal with it. Second year there my girlfriend and I got attacked by 3 dudes trying to steal our beer. Did we go crying to Three Floyds about it? No we dealt with it, and moved on.

I'm with you here. The only thing I would say is that if they want people to be required to purchase during their time slot (and they should want that), then they should make sure it doesn't take an hour and a half just to enter the darn festival. That line was absurd.

I got in maybe 2/3 of the way in group D. I was advised Vanilla and Muerte had sold out, but the others were available.

The line took out my travel partners also, they had so many good beers though...They texted me as C.O.C. were starting, asking if I was ready to go, one was passed out. No way I was leaving the show. We were driving home that night, the time they waited for me was good sobering time.
