Being in Group A, I just remember it being FREEZING last year. Stood in line for about 2 hours and got lit up before we even entered into the park. Made friends in line and already got in touch with them trying to repeat last year.

Yes, same with Group A, it only took 20 minutes to get through the entire line. It was moving so fast I could barley get pours from people and I completely missed the Dark Lord Ice Cream Sandwiches...

2013 with Group E though... that was rough.

I was in group e last year and it was brutal. It was really weird by the time I got out of the warehouse with my DL, the grounds were EMPTY. It was so cold by then.... guh.

I don't know what they did last year, but it was awesome. I was in Session B, and was in line total for about 25 minutes. And it was not cold at all being directly in the sun. The year before I was in Session b, and was in line for nearly 3 hours.

I've done it the past 3 years but probably not doing it this year.

Someone else is free to start one up.

I know somebody that works there, and I have heard that one of the variants is going to be a bottle aged Mad Dog 20/20 Dark Lord

I'll post about this as time gets closer, but my 2 buddies and I will be setting up a couple tasting tables and an open tent on the really long grassy entrance side (not sure how else to describe it lol), in the waiting line. Probably set up around 6:30 am. We'll have lots of cellar goodies, a couple cases of Pliny, and local Cincy/OH stuff. We'll also be cooking breakfast burritos or something similar. Looking to meet fellow BA's and have a good time!

I can't wait to get my hands on that. I heard this year they are charging to use the pissers.

Not sure if serious but if so I look forward to a high number of arrests for public urination.

Someone has to have a picture from 2012 of that warehouse on the north side of Superior. That was the year before they put toilets outside the gates for people waiting in line. There were some rather large wet patches...

Anyone who was looking for shuttle bus info from Chicago (outside of DLD's recommended Jaks Tap): Reggie's (right off the Cermak/Chinatown red line stop) confirmed they'll be doing the shuttle again this year (I called to double check). It's going to be pretty much the same as years past. 3 buses, $10 wristband (cash, at the door, no pre-sale) gets you a buffet before AND after the event (it's like eggs, pancakes, etc., and then mac and cheese, nothing fancy but does the trick) and a ride on the bus to/from the event. Wristbands are sold on a first come, first sold basis, and depart throughout the day.

Here's what the schedule's looked like in the past:

BUS SCHEDULE: FROM REGGIES TO DARKLORD
    9AM | 11AM | 1PM | 3PM | 5PM

    RETURN SLOTS BACK TO REGGIES
    1145AM | 145PM | 345PM | 545PM | 745PM | 945PM | 1030PM

    Reggies rules.

So Saturday at noon CST... what is a realistic percentage of getting tickets if you are on and ready to go? <25%? Last year I had to resort to trading beer for a GA ticket to be able to get in with my buddies, which sucked.

Hopefully the percentage goes up (it wont) as everyone I knew got shut out last year.

Are you making the trek? Ive got to admit that drive to there from here is tedious.

I highly doubt ill make it this year, I would if I had someone to go with, and actually got tickets again.

I'd be surprised if the servers handled all the demand. Everyone is going to be hitting the f5 key like an old lading hitting the spin button on a slot machine. The difference between getting in to get tickets, and getting shut out will likely be milliseconds.

I like that idea. Etix should configure the ticket sales page into a Dark Lord slot machine. Each F5 is a new spin. Get three zombie Jack Sparrows and you get to buy tickets. Heck, they could even charge $1 an F5 spin and make some more money:wink:
